Actually you are communicating with a person who is almost too far laid back. I only call them insults when that is what they are. They were not intended to say a person's view of his points, they were to more than attack my views, but my very character. My comments that you either have not or probably have not had the experiences I can tell you first hand of, but once one has such experiences one sees things different. Events change a person. You can't cart a woman to get an abortion and not agree that you or I took part in it. And when you see the after abortion damage done to the woman, to never seek forgiveness for it means i would be a cold hearted person.
You may have guaranteed that should I actually wrong you, that I NEVER would apologize to you. Frankly I doubt you really care at all. I took it that Fugazi is a lawyer and got his law from England. And realizing I am in error, apologized to him. We will see if he finds a way to sneak in an attack on me but so far I see none.
I am not that sensitive. I have posted far too many years to think I see slights when none were given. They have to be real slights and most of the time, I don't address them. Maybe I would be better off to knock them down as they come up. But my experience is it leads to some sort of thread war. I don't wish this on the forum. If I suspect I slighted you, I apologize.
And as I already pointed out I have had personal experience of abortion, so no not "academic" - - - Updated - - - Again, this is an assumption without facts.
What facts support a negative assumption? In what context have you had personal experience with an abortion? Was it the loss of your own child?
Unlike some I have no wish to divulge any more personal information than that given already. If you choose to not believe me then that is up to you.
If your opponent is correct that your heart wasn't entirely into the debate........ meaning that he knows that he knows that you personally are somewhat pro-choice...... then it would be both kind of funny..... as well as interesting if some of the paragraphs from your defense of the pro-life position....... end up all over the internet!
I quote you in full here..... I have a few more minutes to edit this if you would like anything changed..... http://www.politicalforum.com/index.php?threads/brilliant-pro-life-arguments.500510/ Brilliant pro-life arguments!
Fugazi.... you are officially invited into this as well.......... http://www.politicalforum.com/index.php?threads/brilliant-pro-life-arguments.500510/ Brilliant pro-life arguments!
I stated before the debate began that I am pro-choice but have debated with pro-life individuals more than enough to emulate them.
Thank you! A great read. New here, so glad to have missed out on all that endless and never done. But I found it exemplary and instructive as someone who's struggled long and hard with maintaining civility while engaged in such debate. I believe society should value the life of the pregnant far beyond that of any fetus since it has necessarily invested far more into preparing the former to be a productive member thereof. And what any of us men have to say on the subject will logically matter just as soon as we manage to get pregnant.
A couple of years ago an off the scale intellect made themselves through politicalforum....... AboveAlpha: The Philosophical implications of Multiverse Theory? Should AboveAlpha allow us to set him up for the office of POTUS as early as 2016? I believe that he will be watching some of his threads that are still going so it might be possible to convince him to begin to move toward leadership of the Democrats. Here is a theory that I am sure you will get a laugh out of..... http://www.politicalforum.com/index...-the-usa-dollar.349935/page-5#post-1067413873 The USA Democratic Party is in serious trouble unless they tone down their self righteous anger and find somebody to lead them who can be a little less scary than Hillary was.
And you might like the take on abortion by author Robert Mendelson: Nominations for potential leaders for the Democratic Party. Robert Mendelson:
"contradicts an absolute pro-life stance." I'll say. Mr. Mendelson and I appear to see eye to eye, from that bit anyway.
Looks like you @Grumblenuts stumbled into an old dead debate. They settled this already -- months ago. They even awarded points and scores. And there was a vote. This area of Debates/Contests is for debating, not really for commenting.
