That's what you get when you have these extremist freedom caucus traitors in the house, who can only obstruct and destroy. The GOP is now getting a taste of their "my way or the highway" medicine, that they all have used so well against the Democrats for 8 years. Here is an idea for Trump: Why doesn't he invite the Democrats to the table? They are all for improving the ACA. Maybe he could work with them better than with the GOP freedom caucus traitors.
The GOPe is getting a taste of constitutional conservatism and we already know that just like the traitors on the left, they hate it. Repeal this POS. THAT was the promise. THAT was the GOP fraud position for 7 years.
It was never about fixing anything to trump cultists, it's always been about assigning blame and channeling their hatred. He got elected by not telling anyone how he was going to do anything because he doesn't know how to do anything.
Wrong, they don't need to be careful, they need to be smarter, more committed and more aggressive. Screw careful.
Trump is a joke! He is totally incapable to take responsibility for ANY failure or wrong doing! If the bill had past, you can be sure that he would have bragged about HIS BIG SUCCESS in negotiation! What an ass!
We're two months in and it's already looking like a lame duck government even though republicans hold all the chips. Perhaps all the whining they did during the Obama years could have been better spent in careful planning. It's almost as if the right can't believe they won the presidency and are floundering around now that they are actually expected to legislate.
Those youtube clips of Trump's rallies. Where he was saying things like "we are going to replace Obamacare with something that is so much better, etc." are looking like the most comical lying deceitful con job in political history.
Just remember, the popular vote went to the dems with a VERY WEAK candidate in Clinton The right holds both houses, they hold the white house, and they couldn't pass the signature issue they built their campaigns on. Thats a HUGE failure. This just proves out that if you supported this bill, you ARE the radical right
I dislike many of trumps policies. BUT. Trump earned my respect here. He drew a line against the koch brothers and freedom caucus and said look, i made concessions. Heres the deal, vote friday, or you get obamacare. They refused to vote, so trump stuck them with obamacare. This was a win and a loss for trump.
Respect? He would have loved to make the deal. . .it would have, at least, shown that his bragging about being "the best negotiator!" was at least possibly true! But it was obvious that taking that deal would have taken even more votes away from the other side of the party. . .the side that didn't want to take away the pre-existing clause (and other ACA advantages) away from people, and didn't want to leave 24 millions Americans without healthcare! It is not TRUMP who put a line in the sand. . .it is the center of the GOP and the LEFT who put that line in the sand. There was NO WAY that Trump could gain a few votes from the freedom caucus without losing MANY MORE votes from the more moderate Right, and with NO ONE on the Left voting in favour. . .he just didn't have the votes!
No, what's this proves is Rep's didn't have their **** together on HC. That's a huge failure (for a lot of reasons) & if they don't correct the problem quickly they'll be toast. They need to sit down, get their s__t together & win.... as a team.
I thinks for once they were spared from the worst mistake they could have made this early! For me and many in my circle we never gave much weight in repeal and replace, letting the crappy law fail was a far better option then what could have happened today! We are only a couple months in and the mud we have on us today will wash off quickly, but if we had saddled ourselves with that Ryan POS bill we would have damned ourselves to decades of ridicule and failure! This law has been returned to it's rightful owners as it should be, Republicans need to follow the program to the letter and watch it defund itself, continue to have fewer and fewer options on the exchanges until most people will have nothing to choose from and those that do will be unable to afford it, then watch who will be the ones washing mud off Trump has already started shifting the blame by pointing the failure at the dems, and with a little tactic made famous on the left say it often and loudly!
Or so you hope. You must be a christian. One thing is clear, 7 years of whining from the republicans and they are utterly incapable of legislating anything relating to healthcare.
Not real sure that prize goes to the dem either, although I'm far more content with the left being the ones with their name on the steaming pile of crap
At least the democrats could produce and pass legislation when they held power in the government. The republicans are impotent, inept, and incompetent.
Calm down, think happy thoughts, say it with me "I'm good enough, I'm smart enough and dog-gon-it people like me!" Big Smile buddy!
So just trolling? care to comment on the failure of the orange lardass and his gang of idiots to pass one law?
The "death spiral" is a myth pushed by the Right Wing. The "Obamacare Death Spiral" is one of those things like the Mythical "big earthquake" that they have been predicting for California.
Totally agree on that one. Everyone dodged a bullet there. Ain't democracy grand? That tactic will only be effective if the Trump team uses this time to negotiate the replacement in the back-rooms. Trump would benefit greatly from leading into the next election with a clear win on Trump care. Otherwise the issue will only stain Republicans as ineffective whiners. In any event, that would be a better time to introduce Trump care, as it would be all promise and no testing.
