Well, obviously, science can be either 'empirical evidence' or 'pathos arguments, shrouded in technical jargon'. How do we differentiate between them? IOW, there is a lot of phony science out there, 'proving' things that are absurdly not true, but merely manipulated data.
The wife of the Mayor of New York City was a lesbian. Even wrote columns on being lesbian. Then she met her husbsnd and fell in love. She was asked if she was bisexual, but claims she is heterosexual and monogamous. https://www.google.com/amp/www.nyda...irlane-mccray-talks-lesbian-article-1.1339398
I suppose it can for some folks. No I most certainly do not think everybody is bisexual. Perhaps more than will admit it; or more than we know, but not everyone.
It really depends on whether you feel a part of one's sexuality can be suppressed. I have a sister who showed signs of likening guys, but after a rape would only be with women afterwards. I know guys who have never desired a man in their life, yet are now starting to contemplate it, or at least revising what it is that makes them adverse to being with men, but not having a problem with MtF trans even pre op. I have always held that not everyone's sexuality originates from the same source and that there are possible other factors that could affect it, both pre and post birth. So while most people's sexuality will be established prior to beginning their sexual maturing, there are those whose sexuality might be altered at a later time, such as through trauma as with my sister.
Well, I don't have any scientific data to back up my opinions, but I've read plenty of things and talked to people as well, and I've always wondered how much sexual molestation plays a role in a person's sexual preferences. I'm sure being sexually molested by a same sex offender messes with the mind of the victim. Perhaps they think they are gay after such an experience and after being traumatized. It could also play a role in transgenderism. I also view transgenderism (is that a word? Not sure - oh well, it sounds good - ) as a type of body dysmorphic disorder.
Yeah. The results of sexual orientation on society is one political football. The impact of society on minorities orientations is another. the science behind it, is now a third political football. I completely ignore that football. It can sit in the muddy field and grow algae for the rest of my life. I trust very little of it.
Can sexuality change over time ? Sure it can. I used to like older women, but now I like younger women. A vast change in sexual preference.
It was the other way round with me, I used to like young women, but now I like older ones.. I find most younger ones ain't got no brains, (no offence girls)
Anyone who believes it can change (ie that sexuality is a choice) has to prove it by "going opposite" for a day. Come on, just do it! Turn on that switch. Oh, what's that? You can't? Well, of course not.
There is a difference between the claim of sexual orientation being able to change (from trauma, doing so over decades, etc) and the claim that one can choose their orientation. Additionally there are those who are not repulsed by sexual activities with the sex opposite their orientation and will engage in such activities, either for the pleasure of their loved one (assuming an open relationship) or for money. Some might see the this as choosing their orientation but I would disagree. Be attracted to one sex does not automatically mean that one is replused by the other.
No bisexual is when you are attracted to both sexes. Your sexuality only ascribes what you are attracted to, not what you are willing to bed even if not attracted to it.
Not being repulsed is attraction. if you're willing to have sex with someone is say that is attraction
Proclivity is a tendency to choose or do something regularly. An inclination or predisposition toward a particular thing. What is the definition of sexual orientation? I didn't think I was choosing the wrong word. No insult meant either.
Precisely. An orientation isn't a proclivity. I didn't take it as an insult. Orientation is you're position based on relative objects. Sexual as an adjective narrows you're position based on your position in regards to which sex you like. I don't imagine straight people or gay people deviate much from their orientation if any.
I don't think so. I think some people will do just about anything for money. Hookers sleep with all kinds of men that they aren't attracted to, I'm sure.
If you go back and forth between men and women your bisexual. Rationalize it any way you wish. If they sleep with women than thru are bisexual
