    Trump's message of alienating current allies and commitments, from refusing to endorse the G7 messay on climate change and refusing to explicitly endorse article 5 of NATO, has been loudly heard and poorly received.

    Merkel,was able,to lock down migration to almost zero. She pushed 3 laws into action that allow faster deportations and camps outside europe. Trump achieved nothing. He kisses Saudi Arabias ass, while Merkel blocks weapon sales there. Trump is a supporter of Wahabi terrorists

    There are a lot of us that figure it is high past time for Europe to stand on its own. Europe has relied on the United States for its security since the end of WWII. It was understandable when it was west vs. east, the U.S. and it allies vs. the USSR and it allies. The USSR is no more, the Warsaw Pact is no more. But NATO still exists with the U.S. picking up most of the tab.

    With the breakup of the USSR and the disbanding of the Warsaw Pack, NATO accomplished its mission. The cold war is over unless those who want to bring it back, does so. It's been over 70 years since the end of WWII, it is high past time for Europe to stand on its own. We don't need to be the world's policeman anymore.

    It seemed clear from the election that the American people wanted a leader rather than a follower, someone who 'leads from behind'. If there are those who feel Justin Trudeau will lead them out of the wilderness they really should study the matter more closely.
