And now it is happening all over again. Trump is removing all the safeguards on financial institutions as well as environmental safeguards.

Nebraska regulators have approved the Keystone XL pipeline, paving the way for the new project to be built despite last week’s major oil spill from the existing Keystone pipeline operated by Calgary-based TransCanada Corporation.

    That's only the beginning.

But Wall Street loves it. Of course, they loved it just before the crash in '08, too. Guess which administration was in power then.

Nope, Seth, I don't wonder about it at all. In fact, I wrote an analysis on how Trump won. It is the OP. You should read it sometime.

Let's just say I'll disagree with the majority of your comments, and also add that you may need 2 moving vans because the first one still has all the furnishings she stole from the White House.

    Sigh.

Sandy, almost every president since World War Two has been elected by 23% to 28% of the electorate (except for a few like 2008, 1984, and 1956 where if my numbers are right the number surged to about 30%) President Trumps election is nothing unusual in that regard.

In fairness, the outgoing administration looting the White House is almost a tradition. As much a tradition as reporters stealing artifacts from Air Force One (LBJ actually had his Air Force One specially stocked with items for reporters to steal).

You seem to be mixing up terms because I have seen nationalists/populists of many races and colors. I agree with a lot of what they stand for, and I by the way am a 2nd generation Mexican American.

Nazi's are a socialist party of Germany. Hitler was a SOCIALISTS. Look it up!

The KKK was the terrorist wing of the Democratic Party. Sorry, you can't dump your poop on our front porch and claim it belongs to us.

Did they? David Duke was a Democrat. Since he was exiled from the party, he tries to play like he's a republican but he's still just shilling for the democrats. You and the Democratic Party, the party of slavery, Jim Crow, the KKK, lynching of blacks and white republicans, segregation, poll taxes and literacy tests, are still playing the same tunes of racial identity politics. Heck you still have the same policy goals, little brown Mexican slave laborers to work the fields and clean house and cook at poverty level wages, still demanding racially segregation of students on campuses, and still threatening violence against republicans and conservatives whether they are black, white or Hispanic.

Sure you did. They lost and now you are lost.

    Sandy, Sandy, Sandy ...

How has the establishment harmed our citizens? Well let's see ...

    - It has presided over the migration of our production of goods to foreign countries
    - It has espoused and enabled banking policy that led to the crash of 2007
    - It has endorsed open borders by doing little to nothing to secure our borders, driving down wages and increasing crime
    - It has presided over the thinning of the middle class
    - It has engaged in foolish, unnecessary, and ill-begotten wars
    - It has done nothing about the crime, violence, and hopelessness in the inner cities
    - It has presided over a burgeoning national debt and annual deficits
    - The First Amendment has come under attack from the left, and the right reacts like frightened prey animals
    - It has presided over and enabled and encouraged a shift from personal responsibility to dependence on the government. Remember when JFK asked us not to ask what the country could do for us, but what we could do for the country?
    - "of, for, and by the people" has been replaced by "of, by, and for the elites", as wealth, power, and influence has been concentrated at the top of the pyramid
    - It has stood by passively as the malicious dictator of a third world hellhole of a country developed nuclear weapons that could annihilate America as we know it
    - And it has presided over a disintegration of the political process whereby the two sides compromise and negotiate. Pure, unbridled partisanship is the rule of the day. Getting the work of the people done? Pfft!

That's the record of your beloved establishment, Sandy.

You wonder how Trump got elected? Look at the corrupt political/beltway class for an answer. He got elected because people do not believe that the corrupt political class is working for them. They do not believe it cares about them. And you know what? They're right.

Trump was in part elected because some saw him as the Devil that they know, some saw him as "one of them", many like some or all of his policies, and some voted for him just to spite the left. Politics as usual.

Anything about "The establishment" not directly related to protecting our rights gets in the way of everything you just mentioned.
    You're a conservative - why don't you know this?

Trump won for the simplest of reasons. We the People got sick & tired
of all the Big Brother crap by Obama officials and Democrats in General.
Hillary was a pathetic candidate and Trump was just what the populace
doctor ordered.A totally new breed of politician.Someone also, willing to
take this Lolygagging Mainstream Media to task and not tolerate any of their
one sided Bias.He proved his mettle during the Primaries while making toast
of frontrunners Jeb Bush and John Kasich.
His credentials mainly included being a highly successful businessman
with Huge name recognition.Plus a TV celebrity.
Virtually every American knew of Donald Trump or the name Trump.
Far from a perfect candidate like a J.F.K. but nevertheless just what
    the political doctor ordered.

The biggest reason that Donald Trump was elected was Hillary Clinton. Americans tend to enjoy voting for an outsider and Hillary Clinton was the direct opposite of one. Sure she was the first female major party nominee and he election would've been historic.

    But.

Hillary Clinton had been brazenly pursuing the presidency for a quarter century. Like it or not, Americans tend to distrust someone who wants power too much (up until the American Civil War, a person couldn't even get their parties nomination if they announced that they wanted it).

Trumpians live in a world all their own, not willing to face reality. The Trump faction is a loose collection of individuals who imagine their self-importance. Trump himself is incapable of leading a political movement.

This explains why Trump has not signed one significant piece of legislation. Despite seven years of rhetoric, the Republicans failed miserably at health care. They hope to pass a tax reform deal this year but that looks very iffy. Among several other factors, lawmakers from the populous, high state income tax states are fighting it. Their constituents will pay more taxes, not less if the Republican plan is adopted.

Trump Republicans and Trump himself are responsible for this failure. They are hardly in an enviable position. Trump is more concerned about waging infantile Twitter wars than passing legislation enabling his agenda which is going nowhere.

Talk about a wild imagination. There is no "major political realignment." All there is, is failure on the home front, failure on the foreign relations front, and failure on the trade deals front.

Trumpians are much like their hero. All they have is meaningless rhetoric. There is no substance to what they say.

    Much like Trump himself.

Agreed, and they are sorry now for letting others make the decision for them.

    And horrible decision it was.

Oh, the character assassination people are interested in facts and analysis all of a sudden.
The context of my post was elections and party lines and there was a seismic realignment in this respect in 2016, the Left lost the working class, a huge chunk of their union base for a generation.

As far as Trump's accomplishments are concerned, there's been many, despite the sabotage of both parties' elites, but the full picture will be discussed in 2020, it's meaningless to do it now.

So then TWO consecutive quarters of 3 % or more Growth accounts
for zilch ? Obama couldn't even manage ONE quarter of 3 % growth in
8 years.Plus Unemployment is down and The Stock market is also
booming.Isis is truly on the run.
North Korea is no longer acting like the Big Bully in his part of the world.
Many Executive Orders dismantling Obama's over active and unfair
    EPA rules & regulations.
    Illegal Immigration is noticeably down.
Sanctuary cities are put on notice.
    HealthCare is under strict consideration.
Trump already appointed a true-blue Conservative for the Supreme Court.
Trump is set to also appoint many District and Appeals court judges.
    Plus U.S. attorneys.
