It reminds me of the biblical story in which Pontius Pilate symbolically washed his hands to absolve himself of guilt in the matter regarding the fate of Jesus; reckless misuse of our voting privileges by refusal to make a RESPONSIBLE choice seriously compromises our democratic system and does not guarantee a clear conscience regarding an election's outcome.

How many Trump voters are now conflicted but STILL are outwardly desperately trying to justify their decision rather than admit they were wrong???

Shanks is a perfect example of why Trump won. A hyper partisan alt left extremist that believes insults are the best way to push ideas.

Know it or not your analogy is a very poor example.
In effect you are admitting the Hillary Voters decided to not turn out
and thereby washed their hands of her.Because of all the crap she
has pulled in her political career.Thereby the Hillary voter did not have
a clear conscience and thus allowed the Trump voter to surpass her
    in the electoral college.

Trump took the Rust belt { Pennsylvania } and also Michigan.
Hillary got more popular votes because California handed her
over *8 million democrat votes.Take away California and it was
    a Romp for Trump.

    * Hillary -- 8,753,788
    Trump -- 4,483,810

Only a Trump sycophant would deny that he's a crooked, corrupt, liar in the face of all the evidence to the contrary.

Trump threatened to put his political opponent in jail. And frankly, if he had her killed his defenders wouldn't change their tune for a second.

Yes, that is quite true because Wall Street loves the Republicans and their policy of deregulation.

The Great Depression occurred during a Republican administration.

The Great Recession occurred during a Republican administration.

My party? I voted against Bill Clinton twice. Tell me, during Democratic administrations, what would good judgment involving North Korea be?

That so? Well let see how Trump Republicans are doing ten months in.

Despite seven years of practice, Republicans failed miserably on health care.

Republicans have failed miserably on every important piece of legislation. None have become law. Trump Republicans should not hold their breaths on tax reform this year. There is a minefield of obstacles.

Trump is an admitted sexual predator (Access Hollywood tapes).

In the Alabama Republican primary, Trump backed the establishment candidate, Luther Strange. He lost.

Steve Bannon and Trump's base supported Roy Moore.

In Alabama the same people who gave the state to Trump by 29% also voted for Moore. Trumpians voted for Moore.

Today, the sexual predator, Trump, endorsed the pedophile, Moore, for the U.S. Senate.

I suspect that Trumpians will defend Moore -- they voted for him -- and defend Trump for endorsing him.

    That's disgusting.

And I welcome it. Much of what you said is true. Clinton thought she had it in the bag. Then Comey re-opened the investigation against her eleven days before Election Day. In the last week her huge lead evaporated.

Actually Clinton had a 5 point lead prior to 27 Oct when Comey announced he was reopening the investigation. That's not what I call a huge lead especially considering most polls were conducted with an margin of error of plus or minus 3 or 4 points. This according to RCP. Trump narrowed that lead to a point and a half by 4 Nov. Then Clinton began to extent her lead a bit. On election day Hillary had a 3 point lead. She won the popular vote by 2 points.

    https://www.realclearpolitics.com/e...s/general_election_trump_vs_clinton-5491.html

I don't think Comey's announcement had that big of an impact. By 27 Oct most people had decided already whom they would vote for. Those who voted early couldn't change their vote if hey wanted. But and there is always a but, where that announcement could have impacted the most was with independents and third party voters. How much, hard to say. I've been pouring over old polls trying to find a way to gauge that, there just isn't.

    Obviously, the other candidate, Clinton.

But that is not the point. The point is how is it possible that a totally incompetent candidate got the nomination? How could members of the Republican Party nominate such a person? What has happened to the Republican Party? Are they now self-destructing?

The GOP controls both houses of Congress. They haven't passed a thing. The President is attacking members of his own party. Trump's base is attacking their own party, calling their political leaders RINO's. Washington is in chaos.

    Why? Trump became our President.

Trump attracted a certain kind of American. He promised a wall paid for by Mexico. He said the Mexicans crossing our borders were mostly drug dealers, criminals, and rapists. He vowed to close America off to Muslims. He promised everyone healthcare at an affordable price. He promised to lower taxes for working Americans. He told out-of-work blue collar workers and miners it was all Washington's fault and he would "drain the swamp." He promised a lot of things to a lot of people. Those promises are still out there.

Trump was elected by disgruntled blue collar workers, miners, and small farmers who, rather accept the responsibility for their own lives, blamed the government for all their ills. Anarchists, under the guise of "draining the swamp," who wanted chaos in Washington by removing political leadership, also supported Trump. Trump got more support from non-college educated voters than any other candidate in American history. A true conservative, generally speaking, is well-educated.

Trump courted Steve Bannon, an avowed white nationalist. Since there is not a whole lot of difference between a white nationalist and white supremacist, Trump also got the support of white supremacists, along with members of the KKK and neo-Nazi organizations. It didn't matter if Trump agreed with those people. The point is, his campaign rhetoric attracted white supremacists, KKK, and neo-Nazis. Indeed, after Charlottesville, Trump sided with those folks and earned a "thank you" from a former imperial wizard, David Duke.

You made two false assumptions. You assumed that all those attacking Trump are from the left. Conservatives, like me, and independents are also unhappy with Trump.

No one here is attacking voters.

You don't have a party, do you? Let's broaden that. Trump doesn't have a party. Trump's base doesn't have a party. Trump's base is just a collection of individuals. There is no movement as they like to say. Like Trump himself, it is all talk.

It's not possible. Every poll said so. You said so. Hilary Clinton is President. Keep telling yourself that.

    Exactly

The first female president just returned on Air Force One from a 15 day trip to the Far East where she kowtowed to friend and foe alike

Huh? And all this time I thought Trump ran as a Republican and won as a Republican. I also thought that anyone who registered as a Republican, was a --- Republican! You sound like Bill Kristal and some of those other so called elite "conservative purists" who talk BS because Trump does not suit their ideal. They don't decide what conservatism is - the rank and file makes that decision by voting in those politicians who most mirror their own values.

Also - when did you decide that open borders and fealty to foreign corporations was conservatism?

Trump, Trump, He's our man, If he can't do it, ain't no other Republic or damned Democrat or who can.

    To quote you:

"Trump attracted a certain kind of American"

"No one here is attacking voters"

    You destroyed your own argument.

Enough has been written about the gross misrepresentation of the Presidents comments by the media, that apparently you find little fault with. The out of context lies and distortions the left's media runs with seem to be acceptable to you.

The President won the election because everyday Americans across a broad spectrum, rejected the fraud, deceit, and manipulation of facts, the media and the left attempted. It continues daily.

The greatest tragedy of our current climate is the continued attacks being launched in the left's Culture War, and it's requirement that people engaged in it continue with the bigotry and division that forms it's core objective.

He is a Trump Republican. That is a completely different animal. Waring against the entire establishment, Democratic and Republican, they don't even know what they are.

Hopefully, this is a once in a lifetime phenomenon and Americans won't allow this to happen again.

This is a comment made by a Trump supporter. It is a common theme with them. Haven't you expressed these sentiments yourself?

The people who voted for Trump are all true conservatives who are sick and tired of the same old same old from both parties. Both parties collude with each other to favor open borders and a colonial America used to dump cheap foreign goods while turning a blind eye to the economic war against the middle class and blue collar American workers.

The Democrats are busy protecting pedophiles and transvestites and government unions and hollywood elites to bother, and the Republicans make promises and are never heard from again - until the next election rolls around.

Donald Trump came along and promised to "build a wall" and to bring back jobs - a mantra neither party could be bothered to support.

A year later and Donald Trump is still the only hope out there - while both parties do everything in their power to marginalize Trump and alienate the average American citizen. Both parties have forgotten what Trump has embraced and that is economic security for all Americans.

Your desperation is showing. I said no such thing. You made that up, a common tactic by Trumpians. Honestly, It is a pretty dumb statement.

So, "republican voters" are at war with "moderate republicans in congress."

I will accept that. I will also accept that Trump's base is very confused as your statement suggests.
