    Astronomical compared to what?

    this is old data........

You are 7 times more likely to die of Salmonella from a bad piece of undercooked chicken than being killed by someone with a gun.

You are 6.9 times more likely to die of an untentional accident like slip and fall than being killed by someone with a gun.

You are 4 times more likely to die of Whooping Cough than being killed by someone with a gun.

You are 3.5 times more likely to die of using drugs than being killed by someone with a gun.

You are 3.2 times more likely to die of a Car Accident than being killed by someone with a gun.

You are 2.2 times more likely to die of a drinking too much Alcohol than being killed by someone with a gun.

You are 1.6 times more likely to die of killing YOURSELF intentionally with a gun than being killed by someone else with a gun.

So let's recap, liberals want to legalize drugs that they are 3.5 time more likely to die from and take away guns that they are 3.5 times LESS likely to die from. Ya'all just don't make any sense at all.

Most people shot are not engaged in criminal activity

Where is the proof of such, beyond the fact that most firearm-related deaths in the united states are suicides?

The act of suicide is not relevant to the discussion.

On the contrary - we see the problem differently, and reject what you call a "solution" - for it solves nothing.

No point debating as you have already stated that you want nothing to change - you're happy with the status quo.

Your mal-represntation of my position only shows you do not want to address the question.
    Thank you.

So what changes would you want to address the 30,000 gun deaths every year of the weekly mass murders?

Surely nothing to do with the guns themselves

Explain why the tool should be focused on, rather than the individuals who already possess the mentality of murder being an acceptable course of action.

According to statistics released by the FBI, at least eighty percent of all the violence experienced in the united states, especially firearm-related violence, is perpetrated by those known to have ties to criminal organizations, have gang affiliations, and have violent felony convictions on their records. These are not individuals who can legally acquire or possess firearms under any circumstances. Everything that can be done to legally prevent them from gaining access to firearms has already been done. Trying to enact further legal barriers will not change the current situation, and will instead shift focus away from the actual problem, and will rather place it on a substitution scapegoat because it is easier to deal with.

    Not true.

When there are 300 million gun in a nation of 300 million people...there is always a gun available to them. Reduce that number and there will be fewer guns available to criminals.

In England for instance...gun crime is FAR lower as is the number of guns

Absolutely. The US is far and away the most violent country in the first world.

I'm not smart enough to explain why, but just about every study has shown it.

I disagree. I'm in the more guns crowd. We are a violent society and firearms are the great equalizer, especially for women and people that live in high crime communities.

That is the exact reason that black women are the largest demographic of new gun owners and concealed carry holders in the US.
