No president until the reagan admin. was okay with departing from what the founders set up, to protect america from slave labor overseas. Since then, every admin. and congress has been fine with giving us an economic model which impoverishes the people, thereby impoverishing america, just in order that a few at the top could see their own income quadrupled. Slave labor globalism is a scheme. And our politicians sold out the rest of america when they gave the elites what they wanted. Only problem is, the destruction of the non elites will continue on, until the suffering reaches the breaking point. We will see a return of what we saw during the great depression, eventually. Perhaps they think they can control it this time with this post 1984 National Security Police State? Well, this is possible, but only if they can get their fascist hands on our guns. For me, the time is just about right for oak trees to be used for something other than nice decoration. Robotics and AI will only bring us to this point sooner, IMO. This form of capitalism is what will destroy capitalism.

It does establish a worthwhile goal, it will make blue staters realize they were getting ripped off at the state and local level..

Farmers? You mean corporate farmers? Business owners, yes. So what? The original business owner just died. If it was a good busness, someone would buy it, if only our banks still financed main street instead of shuffling money around, and using exotic instruments of profit, to make their profits and wealth.

Transferred, passed on wealth is what gave us our powerful old money elites. And yet in america, traditionally we used to value working for your income and wealth. Instead of being handed a golden goose.

So, why some a few of us being given a golden goose, which we never worked for? Is transferred wealth, creating an old money elite, nor new money elite, in the interest of america, where such wealth can literally own our republic? Hell....no. It is a matter of principle. That is, each of us work for our income. And all income, is taxed. For if not, someone is getting a free ride. I thought cons hated free rides? lol

Wrong questions. The purpose of the tax code is to raise revenues for the government in the least intrusive in the economy and the tax payers not to accomlish societal goals but economic goals.

The last times we had balance or close to balanced budgets and strong economies it was due in part to lowered tax rates.

The purpose of the tax system is not to satisfy your greed and envy of others. The inheritence tax only raises about $20B a year but forces families and private business to jump through hoops spendingblots of money that could be better spent elsewhere to protect their family wealth which belongs to them not you.

You must not know who Greenwald is, or why he had to move to south american, and then not understand why this news outlet is privately financed, and therefore not subject to corporate advertisers? Of course, given your own news sources does not use journalistic standards, anything that did, would be kooky to you. While greenwald is a liberal, in the older sense, he also, along with the people who work there, practice journalism, which means they adhere to those standards. That you cannot recognize is hardly surprising at all. Given our corporate media threw those standards away, so they can feed people what they thrive on, propaganda. Both partisan and gov't.

Never belong to the family. It belonged generally to the owner. So, what my dad earned and saved in his life, was really mine and his? Well, when I asked him for a loan, he told me to go and get it from a bank, for he had an agreement with the banks, he does not loan money, and they do not raise cotton!

What a sense of entitlement these richer people have!! They even believe the money their old man earned, is theirs!! While never working a day for it. There are at least two ways to look at this, and not just in your way of looking. Your way of looking gave us the old money elites and also the new money elites. And these people bought our politicians, which pissed all over a republic. You gotta choose either these people who get free money, or you choose having a republic. I would choose the republic. So, has big daddy got some money that you want when he dies? If so, fine, you are speaking from self interests.

I don't agree with your view.

My wife is an estate and trust attorney. My views on inheritance are based on the 30 years she has spent helping clients and their heirs.

Selling family assets that in some cases have been in place for generations, is an insult to the effort that went into gaining them.

It's difficult not to view proponents of such polices as being driving simply by greed and envy. Should that be the driving force, such emotions are a poor substitute for what is right and justifiable.

it is not 'free money', loyalty to a private citizen for a return on investment is hard work.

I only support his stance on bring back living wage jobs. And stopping illegal immigration who my candidate, sanders, said hurt american workers and their wages. So, at least do not use your blanket, and pay attention to what I support when it comes to trump. Sanders also supported these two issues, which is one reason I worked for him. Hillary of course did not. Now, get it?

You do have a valid point. But that is a fight well worth fighting, even if humans lose.

If this really were the biggest tax increase in American history the liberals would be championing it.

So, when he campaigned on wanting what sanders wanted, on these two issues, and I am an issues driven genuine FDR progressive, I should not support him in those issues? Oh, you could not give a rat's arse about economic issues, that affect our people, and are just about your hatred of the man. Sorry ,but I am 75 years old, and want what is best for my class of people, and do not care who in the hell delivers on it. I am not about personalty. I love my own class of americans more than that. I doubt you give a rat's arse about them. After all you supported hillary, right? I supported Stein. And I could not care less about social issues, when my own people and america's people are suffering from the insanity of slave labor globlalism and illegal immigration depressing wages and taking jobs away from my neighbors.

Typical liberal way of viewing things. "What's in it for me?" The tax reform deal is about stimulating the economy and making America more competitive in the world market but Democrats just can't grasp that big picture thinking.

Why shouldn't a family be able to keep it's wealth when someone dies? Oh yeah I remember, "redistribution of wealth" AKA Communism.

This tax bill would only have happened with the crooked Fascist liar that is now squatting his HUGE butt in The Oval Office...enjoy your choice. I see how your fixation on immigration and how Trump's pandering to it is helping making America great again.
