Germans say Russia is more reliable than the United States

A new survey published by German public broadcaster ARD shows Germans trust Russia more than the US. America's brand appears to have suffered considerably since the election of Donald Trump as US president last year.

Germans increasingly see Russia as a more reliable partner than the US, a new study released on Saturday has found.

The poll of 1,004 people by research institute Infratest dimap showed that 28 percent of respondents felt Moscow was a reliable partner, compared to 25 percent for Washington.

The result is the first time the public's trust in the US has fallen below Russia in over a decade. An Infratest survey of public trust in Germany's global partners in June found both countries tying at 21 percent.

France and Britain fared far better in the German public's eyes. More than 90 percent said Paris was a reliable partner, while more than 60 percent said Britain, which has been trying to exit the European Union (EU), was a reliable partner


US favorability falling

The new results align with the findings of an August poll by the Pew Research Center that surveyed the public's confidence in different world leaders.

Whereas 25 percent of Germans had confidence in Russian President Vladimir Putin, only 11 had confidence in US President Donald Trump.

America's brand, Pew noted in an earlier study, has suffered in Germany since the election of Donald Trump in November 2016.

Nearly 60 percent of Germans had a favorable view of the US when Trump's predecessor, Barack Obama, left office. That dropped to 35 percent at the beginning of Trump's presidency.

The decline in Germany has reflected a worldwide trend. "Attitudes have taken a dramatic turn for the worse, especially in Western Europe and Latin America," the surveyors said.

Pew noted that the US's favorability had only dramatically improved in one country: "Only in Russia has the image of the United States improved by a large margin."

Germany is in incredibly Liberal state as to the average person.

Your chart seems incredibly simpl and proves the above fact as Macron skyrocked his country despite not doing much and now having a horrible favorability rate.

The US voted in Trump which Russia absolutely hates as he refuses to go along with Merkel like Obama did, well that and being, as stated above, incredibly liberal on average as a nation.

In most areas like entire south and east Germany it is incredible conservative nation. Trump is seen as an Idiot, thats the problem. Trump was seen positive first by conservative here but turned out to be incompetent. Russia in the other side becomes a better Partner.

 

I know of few other nations that plays its card as well as Russia does. They are subtle and efficient in foreign politics. They are everywhere, and even seen as credible mediators, and yet they are pro-active. Like him or not, it looks like that Putin guy really knows what he is doing.

In end Airbus bought Bombardier for free, has no a new product inside the US market, is able to fire american workers in Alabama, employ more in the UK and Boeing lost billions since Canada and UK cancel comtracts with Boeing. The UK even was pushed back in our arms since PM May believed in US deals after Brexit and was pushed back into reality.

Meanwhile Boeing lost 8 billion € contracts and its CEO crawled in Europe on the floor, apologied and called Trump erratic.

Trumps tax reform forced the EU to now tax american internet giants and Apple was the first forced to pay 18 billion €.

Yes, the German elites are deeply into leftist and liberal (in Germany the term liberal means something else than in the Anglo-Saxon discussions, so "leftist" ist the better term here) ideas, but exactly these people despise and hate Putin very deeply. They hate him, they smear him in the media, they wanna incite Russiophobia. And these idiots will continue as long as he does not organize a huge gay pride parade in Moscow with with public sodomy, as long as he will not make any affirmative action for women (at least 50% of the ministries must be theirs) and declare muslim immigrants as the future of Russia, handing them over Russian girls to rape as prey and offer every muslim 4 women infidel women to put under Islamic control at least. More conservative people in Germany oftentimes do admire Putin for saying a big "**** you" to the very same leftist elites mentioned above. The very same people will more often go along with Trump, but dislike other US institutions. Many people who are otherwise rather anti-American support Trump, because he is fighting the left America.

These are tendencies and not describing every individual in detail, but as a rough guide you can say this. Trump and Putin are both heroes of the people who wanna tell the leftist elites to go and **** themselves.

In other words Putin is rather the diplomat and elder statesman, Trump is the kind of guy who say idiots like Merkel, Trudeau or these Swedish idiots in their faces what had once to be said. Plus they saw the USA as part as their family. Gay Pride, slut walk's, femen, feminism and all those cosmopolitan people the admire and wanted them to rule the country, all they loved in America and Trump took it from them ... so in person, they feel even more provoked and are angry at Trump. On the other hand, their agression against Russia as such is deeper. They see Trump as an accident and think they can get back to normal (not too far fetched as Trump is surrounded by doubtworthy US elites, but up to now he successful spits in their faces), while they plan against Russia in the long run.

 

Thats for sure, big question is can Trump end the Cold War, get over anti-Russian American politics and tell Angela Merkel, Martin Schulz or Cem Özdemir ... to shut up and **** off?
