Which is another reason to boot Turkey out of NATO and the Euros to boot them out of the EU.

Disagreed that it's immaterial, but I'm sure Assad will reward you for your loyalty.

I said that Assad was elected. Your own source confirmed that, proving your command of the facts is essentially nonexistent.

Since March 2017 Trump increased US troops in Syria by 40% to 1700 (that is known.. could be more) They are fighting with the Kurds who fought ISIS.. same Kurds who have no intention of relinquishing the territory they took to Assad.

Assad is a secular ruler. He is fighting against foreign mercenaries and terrorists who want to turn Syria into an Islamic theocracy.

Yes, Putin was elected. And Russia is also a sovereign nation. What about this do you find so mystifying?

Russia's position is that they were "invited" to Syria and therefore as soon as ISIS is defeated the US should leave... my post focus not on ISIS but on the US leaving or rather staying, which is what I think they should do and believe they will do....clarifying again... staying... they should stay.

For the most part, ISIS is defeated in Syria. Good job. Time for us to get out of Syria.

    That's true. They were.

They should leave. The US has no business in Syria once ISIS is defeated.

    And why should they stay?

Again, you're an apologist for Saudi Arabia, which is one of the most regressive and thuggish dictatorships in the world. Nothing you say about Syria should be taken seriously by anyone.

Poplavsky, speaking at Sunday's meeting involving tribal leaders from eastern Deir el-Zour province, also noted that Russian military advisers helped coordinate their fight against the IS in the east. The U.S.-backed, Kurdish-led Syrian Democratic Forces have been chasing IS militants along the border with ...

Russia and Iran were given ample opportunity during the Obama Administration to demonstrate goodwill, instead they have aggressively pushed into South America/Ukraine Montenegro etc as well as waged an intense cyberwar. They present a major threat to America and it's allies and I would like to see America build a proxy similar to Hezbollah to counter this threat... the Kurds are a great place to start.

We are again on the same page.

We do not get to decide if Syria's president is good enough or not until our congress comes up with a decision that amounts to going to war. I don't believe our congress yet declared war thus what @Margot2 has to say means nothing to most of us.

Obama has been this nations weakest president in many generations. His one openly hostile act vis a vis Russia was putting US Armed forces on the border with Russia. This was contemptible.

Yes weak Obama slapped the hell out of Qaddafi but he had already been defeated with no shots fired by Bush.

I'm talking about infiltrating Iran, they have a rather large Kurdish population...

Robert I don't share your views, in general and not about Obama

You probably didn't know that from 2008 thru 2010 Gaddafi bought over $2 billion in weapons from the Russians.

    Gaddafi fooled Bush..
