When you are able to help you should help. No where have I seen where the helping of refugees has seriously impaired our safety, resources, or space. Immigration I can understand limiting to those we need. But housing and protecting refugees, especially if we send them back to their home countries when safe is not an undo burden on our country. Again there is a DISTINCT difference between an immigrant and a refugee.

It does sound bad and is beneath us considering who we are. I get making their country livable and fighting. I get that, but a mans first responsibility is the safety of his family. I dont turn my nose down to a man that chooses his children's safety first.
Also we DO have the money and the Resources. Heck I bet you right here right now that if the government created a place for them to stay that the American people, the Churches, and other humanitarian groups would do the rest. Kansas has more open space then we know what to do with. Hell we are literally giving land away to anyone willing to build a home in many towns. If we want to do this we can do this.

Hell guys call me old fashioned but I believe in American exceptionalism. I believe we are the greatest country this world has ever know. That there is nothing that Americans cant achieve if they decide it is important enough. I believe in the American Dream and that this is a nation created as a force of good. Not to be the worlds police force but to be beacon of freedom among the darkness.

If you don't get them at the right time, and they were raised right by their mothers, they DONT MAKE PETS. If humans are damaged while being raised, they NEVER are right. And I'd completely agree with you if we didn't have so many tax based programs. if you had to take care of yourself, then it would less of an issue. but thats not how it works here. You can be on the tax payer dime for life if you play your cards right. We have so many now exploiting the system and its bleeding us dry.

And what defines refugee here? Remember, no one ever leaves. You think Mexicans will go back home once they're no longer a "refugee" and have a taste for the free stuff? Nope. Whats to stop the entire continent from claiming refugee status? Either we draw the line now or watch when 100s of 1000s are coming up once instead of a few hundred kids.

If Kansas is a great place, lobby your governor to offer it up and see how the people respond. CA doesn't even enough water for the people living there. Wait until a real drought hits. I'm not sure how FL is going to be able to support the people at the rate we're building. WHo gives a **** about land. Its about drinking WATER!!!!

Obama's defintion of reform was in essence to end all immigration laws hence daca.which he did without any legal authority whatever.

 

Well we have a system for determining refugees, they have to go in front of a judge and state their case. For the record I have already sent 2 requests to our governor on the issue. Finally once things are safer in their home country we can make them go back especially if we establish refugee camps. It would not be wise to let those people out into the general population without some kind of monitoring and control. We could have a system of green card issuance to those refugees that would have qualified perhaps. But if an area is sending us refugees I have no problem keep them in one geographic area. Mercy does not have to be unintelligent.
