The traffic directing may have been spontaneous to some degree, or planned & undertaken to some degree for protestor safety.

To compare this nothing protest to the brutal Charlotesville demonstrations is absurd at best.

One was brief and peaceful with no loss of life.

The other was a tragic calamity.

 

Just because there was no loss of life doesn't make it people. People were threatened, harassed, assaulted, and had their property vandalized.

Why else would they defend them rather than rightly condemning them? One of the posters on this thread said they were just 'blowing off steam', and only because of Kavanaugh. Maybe it's time to expect the worst from the Democrats. I recall which side they were marching on during the Cold War.

The most serious incident was a motorist striking a protestor and then fleeing.

They attempted to detain him; they briefly did.

Nothing violent happened.

If you watch the linked video from the beginning(which is also shot from another again from the video in the OP), you can clearly see that the walk sign is lit on the crosswalk. The driver was using his vehicle to push (and nearly run over) a pedestrian who was legally going through the crosswalk, at which point the pedestrians began hitting the driver's vehicle.

 

Do Antifa coordinate with Muslims to ensure there's no overlap with Burqa pride?

I've repeatedly explained that the driver committed a hit and run and was thus lawfully pursued - but neither detained nor harmed - but it's being ignored in favor of ginned up hysteria in support of the cynical *Mob Rule!* meme.

 

Yet it's not I who's drawing that comparison ... In fact I pointed out the flaws. The 1 thing the 2 have in common is inadequate police response. Another noticible similarity is protestors playing in traffic was the catalyst. Post #30 ... the requirements ... prohibit obstructing traffic. The constitution is an all or nothing deal. You can't sgroud yourself in it's protections, and simultaneously ignore requirements. The absurdity is pretending the Portland traffic vigilanties had the right or authority to confront drivers.
