It's pretty clear in the second video that the driver was being chased for hitting a pedestrian who was legally in the crosswalk. You can hear the pedestrians yelling to get the driver's license plate number as he drove away. It couldn't be more clear what the incentive of the crowd was in chasing after that vehicle.

This wasn't a spontaneous act of hostility, the driver was intentionally accelerating as his vehicle was pushing a pedestrian through the crosswalk.

 

Why police don't walk off the job there is confounding. But yes clearly the city officials are willing to allow this because essentially they agree with it. Time to send in Marshalls.

 

This is not the only recent video of numerous protesters in the streets of Portland, Oregon dressed up as Antifa causing trouble for traffic. Antifa is a problem. Do you support them?

 

The mayor is paying a lot of money to protect illegals and make it a sanctuary city. He obviously hates Trump and has no problem with anyone that is against Trump including Antifa and Black Lives Matter. Mayor Wheeler is part of the problem and he should be fired.

This is not the only video of people acting stupid and protesting in the middle of the street in Portland, Oregon. If someone was hit (I did not see this in the video) then that person should not have been trying to block traffic in the middle of the road like an idiot. If he was not a police officer then he had no reason for being in the middle of the street with his buddies telling people where to go. Don't defend Antifa. This is not the only incident we have on video.

Wheeler is a joke for letting this happen and you all defend these people when they were in the street acting like idiots. How Democratic of you.

This was not a traffic violation on the pedestrian's part. You can clearly see in the second video that the crosswalk's "walk" sign was lit, meaning the pedestrians had the right of way to be walking through the crosswalk at the time that the vehicle was pushing through the crowd. Regardless of what one's political affiliation is, it is their right of way to be in the crosswalk while the walk sign is lit. The political affiliation of the driver or the pedestrians is irrelevant to this basic legal principle.

Even when pedestrians are in violation of traffic laws, it is not lawful for a driver to endanger other peoples' lives by using his vehicle to push them out of the way.

 

I'm not a Democrat, but the pedestrian was hit in the crosswalk while legally proceeding.

The driver then fled - hit and run.
