Sounds like your "Commies" are just selfish people who sponge off of others. Not a major bloc, not a political issue, not people Democrats are interested in helping, and largely a phantom enemy along the lines of Trump's "Middle Easterners" among the caravans.

That, too. It was far too kind to the private insurance corporations, mainly because an alternative to them (single payer) was likely deemed impossible to get passed at the time. How else do you get a bunch of greedy corporations to insure people with preexisting conditions other than to give them wads of cash? The American way is to let corporations ride roughshod over the little people..

YOU WILL PAY FOR IT!!

"One year ago, Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez was working in a bar to help support her family. On Tuesday, Ocasio-Cortez, 29, became the youngest woman in history to be elected to Congress. With all but 2 percent of the votes tallied in the congressional race for New York's 14th District, NBC News reports that Ocasio-Cortez earned support from 78 percent of voters.

"This is what is possible when every day people come together in the collective realization that all our actions — no matter how small or how large — are powerful, worthwhile and capable of lasting change," Ocasio-Cortez said in a speech after her victory. "Words cannot express my gratitude."

Congratulations! By unseating a 10 term pal of Hillary she has already accomplished more than all the haters have accomplished in their entire lives.

Yes because when administrative costs are very high, and you're looking to decrease the red tape, the first thing you want to do is put the government in charge of something.

Oh man I think I just pulled a muscle laughing.

Everyone that works does not pay net positive number in taxes. Over half pay nothing once you remove payroll taxes. I'm assuming SS will not go away, even though it should, and the 2% for medicare is a drop in the bucket.

No, I'm saying you are hopelessly clueless to the point where I just laugh and say "okay". Then, randall pink leans over to you and say, "he means single payer is based upon federal price controls".

Removing the middle man (insurance companies) and eliminating obscene profit margins typically reduces costs.

But keep laughing, while the American people keep getting worse and worse healthcare while continuing to increase prices across the board. I know suffering is a mainstay of the con platform.

Yeah, replacing them with a government middleman only costs us about 10% of total costs in fraud. Something to the tune of $48 billion in fraud in 2010.

You know, because replacing people who have a vested interest in making sure they're not cheated are replaced with government officials who are spending that Monopoly tax-payer money. They'll get paid the same no matter how bad they perform, and firing them is practically impossible. That's a great combination to make sure you do a good job.

If the government is responsible in one key area, it's managing and spending those tax funds wisely and with great care.

I know, we could put Ocasio Cortez in charge of it. She seems great at math and has figured out "if you want something, just pay for it".

Want a Ferrari? Just pay for it bro!

Cortez’s statement was that it would be cheaper to have a public option due to decreased costs. You do not have to “pay” for something than is cheaper than what you currently have.

If you spend $100.00 on apples a month and suddenly you find a new provider and it only costs you $80.00 a month for those apples how do you “pay” for it. You don’t because there is nothing beyond the current expense.

I know some of you struggle with taking quotes in context (ie the Bible and “you didn’t build that”) but please try to have even a tiny amount of integrity, bro.

Futhermore insurance companies exist to further their balance sheet and shareholder profits.
Not patient care. They are willing to screw over policy holders, deny services, withhold experimental procedures — all for the sake of a buck.

You will have to post your source for me to discuss your fraud claims.

Yes, it was naive to think ACA could have been successful, especially considering how many people wanted it to fail and did everything in their power to do so, but probably even without such resistance.

Has there ever been a more naive person in Congress than Ocasio-Cortez?

    Maybe Pelosi.

Assuming that your "fraud cost" is 10%, the elimination of the MINIMUM of 35% fees for paying the for the insurance fees costs. Hell, the sales commission to the insurance salesmen is 10%, and the executives at the insurance company can be as much as $500 MILLION EACH EXECUTIVE! plus millions of paper pushers dedicated to telling why you shouldn't get claim paid!

It really adds up! It actually adds to being 35% of our TOTAL health costs!

So if the fraud and waste totals to 10%, we have SAVED national health costs of 25%! (But our country's own experience with Medicare saves more than that, along with EVERY OTHER'S MEDICAL COSTS in the First World!)

    ......

We ALREADY pay for a Ferrari, at least our insurance industry does! We want a Ferrari's worth of actual MEDICAL CARE to the rest of ourselves!

The only reason such programs as Medicare and Social Security are facing problems is because the crooks and dummies in Washington are running them. They can be easily fixed if competent and honest people were in charge.

You said, "what price controls?". Price controls are bad. The message conveyed from a market driven price on a scarce resource, in this case medical care, is crucial in the efficient allocation and production of that resource.

So, the stages will go, price controls by gov, interruption in supply, gov rationing of supply, gov subsidy of supply in the form of free education or research grants, degradation of quality of supply, destruction of innovation of supply and finally, gov inefficient production of bad quality, low abundance and obsolete supply.
