The highly educated and intellectual elite are going to have their hands full with this woman because she's clueless. Yeah, she's a gimme in the election, which shows us how educated and intellectual her district is, but once she's in office I have to think her side is going to give her a crash course on keeping her mouth shut and not embarrassing the party.

Think about it, you have Waters and Pelosi on one side of the country, this woman and Warren on the other side, and all of us sane people in the middle.

“People often say, like, ‘how are you going to pay for it?’ And I find the question so puzzling, because, how do you pay for something that’s more affordable?” Ocasio-Cortez said.

I think some of my brain cells died just from reading that.

Her “plan” costs and estimated $32 trillion over 10 years or 3.2 trillion per year......

    Currently we spend $3.4 trillion-ETR year .......

So she would be saving us $2 trillion dollars in 10 years

Now who is sane again ?

The truly scary part is that there are millions of other lunatics in this country who think just like her...

Considering that our current healthcare plan is projected to cost us $49 trillion, that $33 trillion plan doesn't seem so outlandish.

    Yeah.

I mean we can put 100% of the population on her healthcare plan for $2 trillion less per year than it costs for the current 15% of the population on medicare.

    What's wrong with us?

You must have skimmed over the part in the study that says that doubling the individual and corporate tax rate wouldn't even come close to paying for it.

No I think she's smarter than she's letting on. Because if she was an idiot she would have said you pay for it. The middle class who I desperately need to vote for me is it going to pay for it with exorbitant taxes.

She's not so good at the doublespeak however she is good at avoiding telling the truth.

And we all know what the truth is who pays for health care if it's socialized is the people who pay taxes. and you get substandard Healthcare that is exorbitantly expensive because now we have involved the most inefficient and competent organization that ever existed... Government.

I suppose it all comes down to what do I get for my money. Do I spend the 75K on the Luxury import, or do I buy a chevy for 40K? I "save" 35K, right? But do I? For all the times the chevy breaks, or fails, or doesn't provide me with the peace of mind, or the luxury that I might have wanted to afford myself?

Or look at it another way. For $35Trillion dollars, we get to reintroduce wooden teeth again because the Zirconim kind cost too much.. Sweet. We can be just like the UK. Bad teeth and all....

"I'm often asked, like, 'am I insane?' and I find the question so puzzling, because, like, well duh I'm pimping socialism so what do you think!" Ocasio-Cortez [might as well have] said. :p

And we all know government-run programs never cost exponentially more than initially expected.

Did you know that the "progressive" governor of Vermont toyed with this idea for his little state but wound up backing away because the costs and the harm it would do to the state's economy were prohibitive?

Then there's this: Medicare in its current limited form is expected to go insolvent in eight years. Think about that for a minute...

Shhh... you're not supposed to see the eventuality of ......... wait for it............NATIONALIZATION of health care because without it, cost cannot be dictated to the market. So, you have to NATIONALIZE all of it. You have to set up all kinds of bureaus who are then responsible for dictating what kind of care you get, comrade. All ms Ocasio-Cortez is going to accomplish is the absolute ruination of our medical services in this country.

LoL sure. They're gonna throw in free Lambo's too.

You must have skimmed over the part where it assumes all hospitals and doctors accept 40% less across the board, and the ramifications of that.

I think that is who she is expecting to pay for all the healthcare. Maybe break it out quarterly and throw the Easter Bunny and the tooth fairy in there as well. :)

You didn’t know the timeline and thought he was only talking about Medicare costs. Yet I’m supposed to believe you know anything about this topic? Lol

I dont' trust the GAO to be able to quantify this number in any real way. It's like a guess, but has budget implications based on an idea of "certainty" the statistical model created. It's like saying, here's $1M to play at The Bellagio, bet it in increments of 1K a time and only on black. We have "confidence" that we'll never lose money. right? And about just as laughable.

I know that a system designed to cover 100% of the population will never cost less than a healthcare system that is currently only covering 15%, with fewer services.

Well, not a health care system of equal value.

    And there's the rub.

This plan assumes we'd have to more than double all taxation, pay 40% less to providers for services, and assumes a degradation in health care services.

I remember the last time leftists had a bright idea for healthcare.

They called it "Obamacare" or the "Affordable Care Act". A program which was supposed to increase choice and lower premiums.

Instead, it caused monopolization of health care, fewer choices, and astronomical increases in premiums with less coverage.

Yeah. I've heard the leftist pie in the sky promises before.

If it ever gets implemented, you might start looking for a nice country to escape to.

America has the most expense health care in the world and no, it it not the most effective by a long shot. A single payer system would knock down a lot of costs by removing insurance companies from the equation. Then one would need to find a way to reallocate the big money Corporations pour into insurance companies now. A well run, American based, single payer system would save trillions. Long lines a wait periods is a management problem. Deal with it. Didn't Trump single handedly save the VA?

This progression has been all too predictable since the day the Babeuvian Illiterati proposed FullRetardCare. Once this inefficient budget-busting government-run fiasco met its inevitable ruin, "progressives" would propose even more government involvement in our health care system to solve the problems that more government involvement in our healthcare system created in the first place.

    And here we are.

Next stop - what you're talking about. When that even more inefficient and even more costly budget-busting government-run fiasco meets its inevitable ruin, they'll call for a full government takeover of our HC system.
