↑ What does impeachment have to do with a tax cut? If the Democrats are going to impeach Trump for that then they need to answer why they didn't impeach Obama.
Yes impeachment is a political act to remove a President who then can face a criminal prosecution. And yes the Democrats said that even though he had committed felonies in a federal court and a federal grand jury that did not warrant removal from office. No they said that even though he did and they wanted to censure him for it, which is not allowed under the Constitution, because they said it did not warrant removal. It was indisputable he committed those felonies, he submitted a false affidavit and Lewinsky and Curry gave statements he suborned perjury and tampered with a witness and obstructed justice. The Democrats said that did not warrant removal from office and if they try to impeach Trump they got a lot of explaining to do. The Democrats in the House and the Senate said perjury, obstruction of justice, witness tampering and abuse of power did not warrant removal. They are stuck with that.
Well lots did and there was prima facie evidence he committed perjury and obstruction of justice, felonies. What was amazing was that the women's rights groups stood up for him for what he did. For them to come after Trump is the height of hypocracy and duplicity. The fact is Clinton did FAR worse than anything Trump has been accused and and Democrats who call for an impeachment are just showing their hypocracy.
The Clinton 'whataboutism' remains pathetic. We the People did not want Clinton impeached, but the GOP refused to listen to them. We the People don't want Trump impeached, and the Dems are listening to them.
Unlike Nixon, the majority of Americans didn't want Bill Clinton removed from office. Hence there wasn't any pressure on Democrats to vote for removal. Depending on the poll some 60-65% of Americans wanted him to remain in office. In politics and impeachment is political in my opinion, regardless of what a president had done, it all boils down to what the people want. It takes pressure from the people to get a senator from the party of the president to vote guilty and for removal from the people. This wasn't present in Bill Clinton, but was growing in Nixon.
And using polls to govern is always frought with danger. First how many are really paying attention. And let's not forget the origins of the MSM began with Clinton and it's protection of Clinton. Even today many will state, even here, that Clinton was impeached because he had sex with an intern. Of course that was not the case he was impeached because he committed felonies in a federal court and a federal grand jury during a federal civil rights lawsuit. The MSM danced around the sexual harassment and assault and we had the ironic case of liberals and women's groups and the hypocritical Democrats attacking the accusers and turn their heads to the facts. And it remains the Democrats said that none of that warranted removal. And it remains Trump hasn't even come close.
Again after the Democrats let Clinton off the hook for actual sexual harassment and assault and felonies committed?
Precedence carries lots of weight in our system of government don't you agree? Why didn't they want Clinton impeached?
You don't speak for all the people and a lot of people did. The Dems are currently trying to steal elections and are causing an enormous amount of damage to the country.
Bucky does not speak for all the people. I do recognize the will of the people, though, and I am right. We the People wanted Nixon impeached, while today We the People don't (at least right now). Maybe Mueller's report will change that.
According to the Constitution, they could not remove Kavanaugh unless he did something illegal while sitting on the Court. Article III, section 1 of the Constitution states, "The Judges, both of the supreme and inferior Courts, shall hold their Offices during good Behaviour . . ." https://www.archives.gov/founding-docs/constitution-transcript
You don't speak for all the people, just yourself and your own opinions. Nor do you represent the will of the people, only your own party.
Yes, Bucky, I do represent the general feeling of We the People as expressed by the Dem Party. You, oth, represent the will of a very small portion of the far right of the GOP. And you said the GOP was easily going to keep the House. Tsk.
Yes, your allegations are inaccurate and incomplete and at times, false. You said the GOP was going to keep the House. You said it several times.
Tapper: This is not a blue wave Democrats taking the House is really bad news, I was hoping the House and Senate would actually increase for the Republicans so that the economy... Post by: BuckyBadger, Nov 6, 2018 in forum: Current Events
I said that. You said that and it has no bearing on my statement.... did you even read what I wrote? That certainly does not say what you are alleging.
