"Abuse survivor says council invited her rapist to apply for responsibility for her child" "Sammy Woodhouse said she was not the only rape survivor to find their attacker was invited to have say in the life of their child. Last year Rotherham council told Arshid Hussain – the ringleader of a child abuse gang who was jailed for 35 years in 2016 – that he could seek visits from Woodhouse’s son as part of family court proceedings to take the child into care." It doesn't say in the link what her age was when he raped her, but on the BBC tv news last night it was given as 14. What sort of crazies are running this effing town?? https://www.theguardian.com/society...of-law-on-rapist-fathers-after-rotherham-case
Yes, the societal cancer in our midst is spreading fast. So much for the liberal-led multi-cultural experiment? And worse is that there's obviously no official intention to stop it.
Multi-culturalism is a complete fallacy. It's never worked and never will, especially when forced by 'elites'. I do actually believe that the world will become more mixed and cosmopolitan but it has to happen naturally and will take millennia for it to work smoothly. It may not be next week, next year or even in 10 years but this European 'experiment' will inevitably result in civil war between races, religion and political beliefs. The seeds are sown and we will have to reap the unholy amount of bad fruit that they will bear. The more the balance shifts from White European to Mixed Race, the higher the tensions will be.
Make that 'when forced by the liberal elites'. They believe that we're all the same under the skin, which is undeniable - we all have identical organs; but where we differ radically is inside the head, and liberals just don't understand that premise. And yet they also believe they're the intelligentsia? How does anyone explain that away!
I was talking to my friend about this the other day. Of course culture needs to be factored in but there are clear differences between all races and genders etc. There is a reason that the 100m final is usually 90%+ black, there is a reason that academically, Asians achieve the best results worldwide and there is a reason that the White race dominated the world. The denial of such facts are very dangerous and have led to an erosion of European intelligence. Do you think any of the above is true?
The world in inherently unequal. Everything we do creates inequality and it can never be any other way without us all being slaves and basically clones of each other with zero independence. Something as simple as applying for and being offered a job, that just created inequality. If I buy a car today, that's created inequality. The whole equality movement in complete and utter horse crap.
In the UK, they'll blame the rape survivor for deciding not to have an abortion. Thus, when she "chose to have the child" she gave up parental custody rights. Gee, and what happens if the child is a girl? What's going to happen to her when she turns 14 ?? (if not younger)
I believe it may be appropriate for the father who raped the mother to have visitation rights in some cases. But definitely not in these cases!
Britain never worked for equality except as per rights. We worked for equality of opportunity. We never reached it.
I beg to differ, I believe everyone already has that opportunity. Do you have any specific examples where an opportunity is denied?
Is that for me? Please disregard JK, I've just seen it was to an ignored member whose post was hidden.
Correct, it was for another member. I assume one of you has blocked the other, which is odd considering this is a debate forum. I welcome people who I disagree with!
Certainly, the state pays for faith schools run by mostly the three Abrahamic faiths, religion is used for streaming children. Non religious parents are denied access to the best schools. Hence the lack of equality of opportunity. You can also look at the Bishops in the house of Lords.
If you believe everyone has equal opportunity then you do not understand what that means and what would be the result of that. In particular a society which had equal opportunity would almost certainly have high social mobility as I believe Denmark has. We do not. Our social mobility is now at the level it was in Victorian times. We did have increasing social mobility through the 60's and into the 70's when we were a social democracy. It started drying up in the 80's when we gave up social democracy for neo liberalism. There are an infinite number of things which need to be addressed to make sure everyone has an equal opportunity and things which can and were done to achieve this and basically it is something which requires on going work. One basic way though is to undo the damage done by the unequal start. Research a few years ago showed that by the age of I think 5, there was in developmental terms a difference of one year between the richest and poorest children. This is due to several things, diet, educational toys, holidays, the ability to take children to experience different situations and the education achievement of the parents. There may be more that is what I can remember. All these things mean that children do not have an equal start and the first years are the most important in working on this in order to give all children an equal chance when they start school. That is why there have been all these sure start type courses. Gordon Brown did start one of those and it was beginning to show results but after the 2010 election the coalition ended it. Even the US now has better social mobility that the UK. https://www.theguardian.com/society...-in-richest-countries-has-stalled-since-1990s
@alexa Equal opportunities will never exist, because we're not equal. We're not equally beautifull, we're not equally smart, we're not equally strong, we're not equal in front of health problems. Interesting that you have that quote of Voltaire, because equality is such kind of absuridity. And I spoke only of mostly genetic reasons, but that's not the only thing, language level, cultural codes, general knowledge matter. A kid born in a family which bring him in the museum, make him work the evening, is in the family where people read would have always an advantage over people which don't. A kid born in a family without history of addictions is born with an advantage. A kid which is born in a family where he will raised by TV. A kid which have the attention of his parents, and that the parents is willing to help him is born with a serious advantage. And no states could fix it. Life is unfair, ugly and sad but paradoxally quite beautifull when you accept it.
