We’ve seen it with Louisiana. New York and Connecticut have passed unconditional laws creating a circumstance where they put themselves in the position to execute confiscations/arrests or coward down. I’m sure California is in a similar position. We currently are seeing states implement red flag laws that are questionable.
Really? They can lawfully ignore enforcing laws that would be a felony if a person were to not comply with said law? And still keep their job?
"Among the most outspoken was Larimer County Sheriff Justin Smith, a Republican who has continued to lobby against stricter gun control measures. Six months after the bill was signed into law, Smith maintained the laws were "unenforceable." He, alongside law enforcement officials elsewhere in the state have vowed in the past not to enforce the laws because they were too vague, cumbersome and, they said, infringed on Second Amendment rights." Adding "felony" is a goal post move. BTW, Sheriff Smith was just re-elected. https://www.coloradoan.com/story/ne...acity-magazine-charge-filed-larimer/74887236/
The discussion you jump in on was about confiscation of guns if such a law was ever passed. You posting a link about a mag ban is a goal post move : )
You wrote, "Oh right, I forgot...law enforcement can pick and choose which laws to enforce.....weeeeeeeeeeeeee". You didn't limit it to confiscations.
Except that I was replying to a person where the discussion was about confiscation. Context is everything.
They have created a scenario where there only option of enforcement is to arrest and confiscate unregistered firearms. Whether follow through or not is to be seen.
It is currently happening in Connecticut and New York. Thousands have defied laws that require registration.
“Even if you believe the restrictions were reasonable or effective, you also have to essentially find a receipt proving when the individual came into possession of the magazines,” And thus, the uselessness of the law.
Enforcement of national law is not the duty of localities. Hence why we have local police, state police and federal law enforcement.
They have put themselves into the position that not doing so, is to not enforce there law, despite its being unconstitutional. Now, go play in your sandbox.
Interesting how much time you spend on everything except the actual topics of importance. You may go on the "ignore because he isn't worth the time" list.
