Confiscation can't become law because the constitution confers no legislative authority for any law enacting confiscation.
By that time, assuming this unconstitutional act has been challenged and defeated by a scotus decades in the future that finally gained the libturds it needs, I suspect many organizations will have been formed and organized to meet it with force. The nra lawsuit after Katrina has confirmed the people’s right.
Right...Since we’re all talking about govt confiscating I was going off the premise that if it was then it was due to a constitutional amendment. Otherwise the fed govt couldn’t order confiscation.
No but many are. My question was in general to those whining about something that won’t happen at the federal govt level.
Right. Confiscation can't happen at the federal level because congress has no legislative authority to enact any such law.
Of course. I’ve always said it wont ever happen. Only paranoid whiners believe it could actually happen.
I agree. The constitution confers no legislative authority that would allow congress to enact any gun confiscation law.
Successfully confiscating firearms that are unregistered, and thus not known about, would prove to be a very difficult endeavor. Law enforcement officers unwilling to risk their lives carrying out such an operation could legitimately claim that they are unable to find any firearms.
The united states government has demonstrated, numerous times throughout its history, that it is not above enacting legislation that it has no legal authority to implement, and carrying out otherwise illegal activities, going so far as to force the courts to green light the endeavor.
