Meanwhile, Trump's shutdown of the government out of spite for not being given $5.7 billion by the Americans taxpayer for his big, beautiful wall (for which he is "proud", takes full responsibility, and vowed he would not try to blame others) is "compromising" - on US security and the safety, and is inflicting financial hardship on public servants and other innocent Americans.

Instead of the normal blabber, she gave a direct and unquestionable answer.

 

But trump says he shut down the government. Only he can reopen it. Right?

 

This talking point is backfiring so badly that Trump didn't even take Lindsay Graham up on his prompt to go ahead with the emergency option.

Trump is giving the public plenty of time to digest just how out of touch the coastal Democrats are with the heartland.

 

That just didn't work. Everyone knows the government is shut down because the DP House refuses to fund The Wall, and Congress cannot pass a budget without funding for The Wall - can they?

This is the Pelosi/Schumer DP shutdown - unless Democrats in the House abandon their principles, cave into Trump and fund The Wall.
And I certainly hope they never ever do that! Ride this shutdown all the way to 11/2020 Vegas. How many Democrats can there be out there willing to cave in to Trump? How many Chers are there out there - right?

It's the DP's shutdown and they need to sit strong on their principles and defy that awful Donald Trump to the bitter end - if necessary.

Their constituents would defend their constitutional rights and speak truth to power via the courts for years if necessary.

 

Dems are apparently also looking at the polls or they would not be caving. I have done everything I can to encourage them to hang tough, but there is only so much I can do for their cause. Perhaps Trump will agree to build a windmill for them to knock down for their fan base after this is over.

Nobody is saying the wall will stop everything. It's just one measure to help with protecting our borders. It's simply one of many things that need to be done.

The jackass left thinks that because tunnels exist we should forget about the wall. That because there's more than one way to enter illegally we should just forget about the wall. That's idiotic and i refuse to believe lefties are this stupid. I maintain that it's all an act simply to push an agenda......but I've been wrong before.

And if you think they got their asses kicked in last weeks dueling speeches, if they are dumb enough to still have the government shut down for the SOTU, oh my gosh, are they going to have their heads handed to them.

They need to put their petty partisanship aside and come to terms with the US President and reopen the government and secure the border.

Their current crap isn't going to be tolerated much longer by the American People.

 

I don't know how much longer the american people will tolerate this. I hope you're right and it isn't much longer, but I think many on the left care about opposing trump and nothing else. For this reason i think it might take longer than you think. I believe eventually, if the left is successful in keeping our southern border porous, that the national security issue will eventually become too important for the people to ignore....even lefties.

 

Unless Trump is finally cracking on DACA, there is no deal and wont be one
