    I hope they like a lower standard-of-living.

I’m not wrong. There are always two sides to any transaction. Alarmists just look at one side. Whatever Britain loses is going to be a loss for someone in EU as well. Naturally, they’ll try to preserve the ties to avoid the losses. There will be lobbying from the inside.
Negative impact isn’t going to be major in a long run.

You can’t jump in a car and drive there. You can’t load a semi and run it to Britain from the US. You can do both from the EU.

Clearly you are not, you want to see the UK split and hand Europe to the Germans. Two world wars fought to stop a European continent dominated by Germany.

All they have to do to achieve that is remain in the EU. The EU will eventually suck the life out of all the member countries.

So the UK is going to give up any control over who they allow into Britain?

Yes, really. Have faith in your country (assuming you are British that is).

I had a look at Nicol's twitter after reading that. It appears as people were saying that May is not intending on making any major changes which would make it worthwhile for anyone to speak to her. She is not as people keep saying, prepared to change her 'red lines' which means she is just wasting time. Nicola's demands for being willing to talk are much the same as Labour's though she also puts in the need to extend article 50 and at least being willing to consider a second referendum.(for Brexit, not Scottish Independence, yet) ;)

The belief of a no deal would get Scotland out of the UK before the end of March! Well that might not be possible but if it was it would.

It is looking like the only way that May can get an agreement is if she is willing to change her red lines. My reading has people believing that would spilt the Tory Party which is apparently a lot of what May's position is about - that is not splitting the Tory Party rather than what is best for the UK.

There will be an England, and a lot of Englishmen think that's all that really matters. Wait until they lose the money from Scotland's oil...

I watched Robertson yesterday and quite impressive he was, but it was clear from the speech he made and some of the other SNP party that if Brexit goes I will be needing a passport to get into Scotland, especially and rightly so if NI gets a softer brexit than the rest of the UK. As you say, all May cares about is the Tory party not splitting.

Yeah, sure--jerk young Brits out of Europe and they'll grow to love he Queen and her kids. They'll be happy to have a lower living standard while continuing to pay for your NHS and pensions.

I'm from the colonies (Canada, USA), but I've spend many months in the UK and have been to every part of the country many times.

Yes, well he would say that. ;) I am not sure because I have not been keeping up on that from Scotland's side. I am going to do a little looking now. However I think it goes without saying that if it came to No Deal, that would be it. The Hard Brexiteers who want that do not mind if it results in Scotland leaving the UK, they also do not mind if it leads to bloodshed in Ireland - there were quotes from them some months back which are in the Western Europe section. They are hard nosed English ethnic Nationalists I am afraid.

Interesting point made on Politics Live tonight by Vince Cable, the number of voters(over 65) who have died since Brexit is now greater than the number of young voters who have registered. The implication is that a much larger % of leave voters have gone.

So explain to me why you think that, why you think you know more about the EU than the people who live there?
