Trump signed letter of intent for Trump Tower Moscow project despite Giuliani insisting he didn't

    https://www.cnn.com/2018/12/18/poli...ter-of-intent-rudy-giuliani-moscow/index.html

"(CNN)A newly obtained document shows President Donald Trump signed a letter of intent to move forward with negotiations to build a Trump Tower in Russia, despite his attorney Rudy Giuliani claiming on Sunday the document was never signed."

Giuliani walks back statements on Trump Tower Moscow talks

    https://www.politico.com/story/2019/01/21/giuliani-trump-tower-moscow-michael-cohen-1116640

"Rudy Giuliani on Monday walked back statements he made this weekend concerning potential conversations between then-candidate Donald Trump and Michael Cohen about plans to construct a Trump Tower in Moscow ahead of the 2016 presidential election."

Rudy Giuliani May Have Just Set a World Record for Self-Owns on Sunday Television

    https://www.esquire.com/news-politi...i-donald-trump-hush-money-trump-tower-moscow/

"First, Giuliani went out of his way to admit the President of the United States has been lying constantly about the hush-money payments his former lawyer, Michael Cohen, made to Trump's various alleged mistresses at the height of the 2016 election. But it's no big deal, Giuliani kindly explained, because the president isn't under oath when he's lying, then continually changing his story when his lies are exposed by further investigation."
    .................................................................................................................
Or, the alternative to memory lapses by a defense attorney who can not keep his story straight is the WH has initiated a strategy that involves trying to so muddy the waters people give up trying to learn the truth.

BTW, I hope he doesn't have it. It's a terrible disease.

I think that a big part, if not the only real part, that Guliani plays in this sordid melodrama is that of Court Jester.

He is also about doing his best to normalize the graft and incompentence of the Trump Administration. Most significantly, he is there to normalize Trump's Russia issues.

If he can, via a clown act, and a constant barrage of shocking lies, revalations, pretend or otherwise, than he has done his job.

This is a case in point. Guliani just put the fact that the discussions over Trump's Moscow hotel went up to election day. The objective is to obscure the fact that Trump repeatedly lied about this.

And it also puts the idea in the public square, all ready for the Trumpian spin that it is perfectly normal for a candidate for President of the United States could be openly working on a renumerative deal financed by and for the benefit of the chief of state of a country that is trying to sway the US election to Trump.

The Trump strategy is to try and bake in all his scandals, either bore the audience or neutralize Trump's behavior.

This works on the fawning and uncritical Trump audience, which has always forgiven or overlooked the stupidities, graft, vulgarity and open bigotry of their fuhrer.

That's what Guliani's job is. To make it all right , by playing the fool......for a fool.

So what if Trump did sign a letter to build a building in Moscow.

I'm confused. What's the problem with that?

It's all a clever game plotted by the trump team.

    1. There was no Russia involvement ever.
    2. There may have been one or two contacts we didn't know about.
    3. There was some contact with Russia but not about the Presidency.
    4. So what he wasn't president yet.
    5. Yes he did.
    6. Yeah, but that's all old news. We knew about that a long time ago.
    7. So what, there was nothing wrong with it.
    8. Everything was legal.

And with that trump's base will consider that Rudy has already proven trump innocent and there's nothing Mueller can say that would not be fake news.

Thank you for making my point!

Tell us that it is normal for a candidate for President of the United States to collude with agents of a foreign power's government. Particularly when the discussion involve putting Russian money in the US Presidential candidate's pocket, and, as we know, an effort to influence the election in favor of the candidate the Russians are buying.

I can guarantee that if we were talking about Obama or Clinton, the issue would be crystal clear to you.

Therein lies the essential hypocrisy of Trumpers. Can you imagine the outrage if Hillary had been working on a real estate deal in Moscow with representatives of Putin........obviously with Vlad's knowledge...........while running for prez..............while denying she had anything to do with Russia..............while she was praising Putin..........suggesting sanctions should not be enacted..........then had her attorney (Rudy) say the deal was being worked on right up until election day..........only to change his story?

One can not over state the magnitude of how batshyte crazy it is that Trumpers shrug their shoulders and say "what's the big deal" when they'd be out of their minds if Hillary or Obama did anything close to this.

Just signing a letter of intent by itself might not seem bad. However to build you would need financing and no American bank would loan trump any money because of his unethical business dealings. So who did agree to loan him the money? Was it a Russian bank? Did Putin arrange the financing for you? yada yada yada. You might understand why a 'letter of intent' could open up a lot of questions that could be embarrassing to the president.

We have already been "batshyte crazy" over Hilary while running for president and it did no good. No reason to now get "batshyte crazy"about Trump.

You mean like bypassing US law to send $150 billion dollars to a terror regime?

Working with foreign countries on a "dossier" to prevent Trump from becoming POTUS?

Trump is the only POTUS in history to lose money while in office.

I suggest you subscribe to reality.

Yeah nobody would lend money to a guy who's been building buildings all over the world for the last 40+ years.

    What was I thinking.

You mean like work with the FBI and foreign governments to put together a dossier to spy on an incoming President?

Yeah, good thing they didn't do anything like have a meeting with a foreign lawyer.

    Pretty clear to me,
I would say the Trump Scandal is on a par with the Uranium One deal made by Hillary Clinton

    Yeah it makes total sense.

I mean, Putin has profited greatly by Trump being POTUS. Certainly far more than under Obama or Clinton.

Giuliani may be channeling Soupy Sales.

Every time he "defends" Trump, Trump gets creamed.

The only way Trumpers can justify the bonkers insanity of voting for a man running for POTUS who was covertly negotiating with Putin on a hotel deal while trying to subvert the sanctions placed on Russia by Obama is by believing in right wing conspiratorial whataboutisms like...

Your characterization of the dossier and its origin (it started as Repub oppo research) is in error.

Can you imagine Hilary doing something completely illegal and then the FBI saying it was OK because she did not know any better. Well she did and they did.

Are you aware of what Trump has been doing the last 40 or so years? Kind of like his profession and stuff? Building buildings all over the world and stuff like that?

How did he do that do you think?

Here's a list in case you'd like it:

    https://www.trump.com/real-estate-portfolio/

Oh my God, he's colluding with Uruguay too.
