https://www.abc.net.au/news/2019-03...-given-c-section-instead-of-abortion/10860382 What is really disturbing about this is that they not only put this very young child”s health at risk but also put the baby at extreme risk. If they wanted to deny an abortion entirely why not wait a few more weeks until the baby had a better chance?
Yeah, 19 weeks is already too late. Maybe because they refused to carry out murder? At 19 weeks it's a baby. It shouldn't have taken them five weeks to decide (if you're going to abort, better do it sooner rather than later), but I suspect they were trying to delay. I do see a problem with cutting into a woman, but for an 11-year-old it should have been more than obvious that she was pregnant long before then (if not to her, then to her mother). I suspect some other family members may have been complicit in trying to cover this up. If that's the case then the blame for the c-section is on them.
Good lord, I don't click on your links.... and it's a fact, a 19 week fetus is still a fetus.....it has to be born to be a baby....as you have been told a thousand times...
She was 11 She had gone through a rape To force her through an unwanted pregnancy would be like raping her again especially at that age If they were that determined to “save the baby” why condemn it to almost certain death by doing the caesar at 23 weeks?
The fetus was 19 weeks And that doesn't give her a free pass to get a late-term abortion. An abortion wouldn't have un-raped her.
Maybe they realized they could no longer legally delay her from terminating her pregnancy. At least at 23 weeks the baby had a chance of survival. These days, with modern medical care, a baby born at 23 weeks has a slightly over 50 percent chance of survival. The girl probably could have increased those odds of survival to 80 percent if she was willing to wait two more weeks, but I suspect she just wanted her baby dead. (When I say "she", we're probably talking about her family making the decisions for her and telling her what to say)
No 11-year-old girl should have to give birth. But no 11-year-old girl should have to go through an abortion either. I don't know that we really know that it was her decision. For a girl that age (and even older) likely the family was exerting a lot of influence, control and/or pressure. For all we know, the girl might have secretly whispered in one of the doctor's ear that she didn't want to terminate the baby, but the family was against it.
Depends on whether you are measuring survival as actually leaving the hospital or just to the door of the NICU
Why wasn't she saying that at 15 weeks? You think an 11-year-old can be 15 weeks pregnant without that being very noticeable and having a big bulge on her belly?
Here's the whole post instead of your usual cherry picked version : """Good lord, I don't click on your links.... and it's a fact, a 19 week fetus is still a fetus.....it has to be born to be a baby....as you have been told a thousand times..."""" I don't need your links...they're probably to a cartoon or an episode of Star Trek...….
Your empathy and sympathy (total lack of) shows what has been said about Anti-Choicers is true....they ONLY care about "children" WHEN they're in the womb....if they're 11 ?? well tough cookies...
We're talking about the difference between a c-section scar and having your life completely terminated. And what was done to that girl is illegal. And now that they have the baby maybe they can do a DNA test and see who the man responsible for this is (probably a member of her family).

I'm sorry but I can't think of anything more ignorant than someone thinking all a pregnancy does, ESPCIALLY TO AN 11 year old's body, is leave an external scar. You acted like you care about the "child" in the womb but the moment it's out you don't seem to care what it suffers through. Are you aware that an 11 year old is a CHILD??? You didn't know that? NEXT will you claim she asked for it?????
Do you ever go back and re-read the stuff you write and wonder if maybe it's more than a little ****ed up? If not, start here.
