    I heard that Argentina is heavily a catholic nation.

    The old man should be arrested. Any female that helped him needs the same.

    Problem is that Argentina gets to create its own laws.

    And Argentina had to follow its own laws.

    It looks like the doctors did give the girl what she wanted, they just made her wait a little bit.

    Well that's exactly what the doctors did, they removed the baby.

    It doesn't seem like the girl explicitly specified abortion.

    I'm reading some of the details of the story and it doesn't seem like all the details of the case have been made publicly available, so it's very difficult to know what the girl actually wanted or told the people around her.
    She was slashing her wrists, obviously from the trauma of being raped/molested, and it's hard to say whether that wouldn't have still happened if she had gotten an abortion.

    There was that confused era where her grandparents had total control of her and her own mother wanted to take back control too.

    Sadly the child was caught up in the middle of a legal mess.

    i am not clear why a woman living in Australia cares about what happens in Argentina. Maybe she will make an announcement.

    A pregnancy would "rape" her, punish HER for the rest of her LIFE... she's 11, she is one of those "precious lives" that Anti-Choicers CLAIM they want to protect, a CHILD!

    UNTIL SHE GOT PREGNANT....and then they want to punish her for being raped.

    That CHILD should have gotten a "free pass" to any damn thing she wanted after being raped...and then RAPED AGAIN BY OFFICIALS who stupidly held up the abortion...

    And I'm not happy with a Pope that thinks life is precious and abortion is wrong but does NOTHING PRO ACTIVE to stop this tsunami of children being raped.

    I'll believe the Catholic Church wants to do something about this when they call the cops BEFORE someone else does...

    Why does an Australian care about a child in Argentina?

    Well, this may be hard for some ( ;) ) to understand but some people care about ALL children...not just the unborn ones.....and not just the white ones...and not just the ones from their own country...

    According to law in Argentina, she was raped and qualified for an abortion.
    The delay was about guardianship. I wonder why her mother didnt have guardianship.
    The authorities better hold "gramps" accountable. 65 and 11 yr old!! ::gag::

    The baby delivered by c section probably wont live long ( according to the article I read)

    I see, your explanation is she is far superior to other humans who also are concerned once informed.

    Those of us fighting on behalf of the unborn children come to the table for these reasons.
    a. unborn are the least capable of representing themselves
    b. statements women are harmed by their own child is largely a hoax. Medically a small number do get harmed, but not the majority.
    c. Men support it so they can easily terminate their own child for a few bucks.
    d. There is something creepy about men who propose women knock off their own child.

    As I find so often with the media, they simply give us a small portion of the story but people take the fragment and concoct a story to their own liking. Argentina is more homogenized than is the USA.
