That reminds me of two neighbors that lived down the street. I will call one Lovey and the other Sherry. Lovey went over to complain about Sherry's children, Lovey shouldn't have done that because Sherry sent Lovey the complainer home by throwing pebbles at her...it was too funny. No one would have noticed if Lovey hadn't started screaming the woman is crazy. She did manage to make it home without too many lumps and bumps. That happened years ago and I still catch myself smiling about it. Ain't memories great?

Have you noticed how they reach back to very old music for many current films with young target audiences? This is why.

"Research has suggested that modern music really isn’t as good as the old classics. A study has found that golden oldies stick in millennials’ minds far more than the relatively bland, homogenous pop of today.

A golden age of popular music lasted from the 1960s to the 1990s, academics claimed. Songs from this era proved to be much more memorable than tunes released in the 21st century. Music from the vinyl era is still very popular among young people Scientists tested a group of millennials on their ability to recognise hit records from different decades."
METRO, Millennials prefer music from 20th century ‘golden age’ to the pop of today, research suggests, By Jasper Hamill, 7 Feb 2019.

The '70s and early '80s can't be beaten for fantastic music.

WRONG.The 60's were the bellwether. The 70's extended that reign and
the 80's were in my Opinion The Worse decade for both Movies as well
    Music.Good for College Basketball,however.
What screwed up the 7o's momentum was the Goofy Disco Craze.

My fav music decade was def the 80's. But I think it had more to do with where I was emotionally... newly divorced after being married all my life. Hearing songs from the 80's reminds me of me back then. ;)

Got one more sill....4by8...and about 9 more floor joist to go. The old floor has a 3/4 particle board subfloor nailed on top of two layers of linoleum and the whole thing is covered with vinyl tile. It is a real booger. Got three joist out today. After that ......burning and collecting up the scrap metal. Been throwing all the waste in the basement. ..will burn a lot there.

In the oldest part of the house now. The joist are sitting on rocks and red Alabama clay. ...of course....so are the sills. But a two by eight joist sitting on dirt all that time and no rot...amazing. The only real damage has been termites ....and where the roof leaked.

    Interesting morning.

I got run off the road by some car... Of course, the highway patrol saw me. I explained what happened.

I spent the next fifteen minutes getting grilled about rest breaks, prescription drugs, and substance abuse.

After passing an extensive field sobriety test, the officer says: "I'm gonna watch the video".

Two minutes later, she comes back and says: "I see what you mean. Drive safe"...

Finishing up on a Criterion Collection Film Noir I purchased
a couple weeks ago and Criterion Films are Expensive however
    a must for my collection as I have seen - The Asphalt Jungle - { 1950 }
many times but never owned a copy.I was thinking about this movie
and knew my local Barnes & Noble had a copy.Barnes & Noble runs
50 % off discounts on Criterion Films at least twice a year. But I
decided to get it anywho.I have my standard B & N 10% discount card
and use appropriately.I sometimes take a full week savoring a great classic
watching in segments, as I have done with - The Asphalt Jungle -.
I also ordered both 1931 John Barrymore Movies :
    - Svengali - and - The Mad Genius - and have watched about half
    of - Svengali - already.
Like Great Cognac I like to relish and take my time.
    I rate - The Asphalt Jungle - right up there with - The Killing - { 1956 }
which also stars Sterling Hayden who was a big lug of an actor but
very believable.Maybe Too much so in Eric Roberts first film
    - King of the Gypsies - { 1978 }.Also a good movie.

If I made buttinsky a bit.You talk of inanimate objects like wood
and stone and joists as if compelling considerations of the human condition.
They aren't even moveable like a classic car or motorcycle or even a
Lionel train set.The only life they provide is by way of human hands and
often toil.I guess the same could be said of Great art.
Or architecture created by Frank Lloyd Wright.
    Whatever

I missed it.I doggone missed it is what.Is all.
    On an internet Intelligence test.
    The question.
    Which language is more spoken.?
    English or Mandarin Chinese.
For starters I done thought use of the word " Chinese "
was considered taboo. Therefore No " Chinaman " stories.
Live & Learn, No way baby.
Like those early Virginia Slims commercials.
    " You've Come a long way , Baby ".
Baby ... Baby who.? What's with all this Baby stuff.
I am trying to find the Movie quote to that.
    Funny as hell.

If you think Bob Seger is a 'one hit wonder', then you have a serious hearing impairment

Just check out how long before Music or Hits become Passe.
That is the proof in the pudding.Or how long does a group
remain popular and do gigs. The best example being the Rolling Stones.
Still hugely popular to this day.

Watched a great ole silent movie on TCM last night. Greta Garbo was certainly a beauty in 1926. 7 yrs this movie will be 100 years old. Awesome.
