When White men first began settling Ohio, the trees were so thick, that many, many trees had to be cut down. As amateur science was all the craze at the time, a lot of people took daily readings from their thermometers. From these records, it was shown that as the trees were thinned, the average temperatures rose and humidity dropped. Along the Front Range of Colorado, the opposite happened as people planted trees in what had been prairie land. In both of these cases, the changes were attributed to the shade and water retention properties of trees.

The thing about cutting down trees, is that lumber is full of carbon. It hasn't gone anywhere. It is still in the wood. The wood has to break down, which can take many years, in order to release the carbon into the atmosphere. Much of clear cut wood is used to make housing products. The carbon is what your walls, floors, roofs, kitchen cabinets and fine furniture are made out of. As are baseball bats.

When I was in school, I once did this experiment where I extracted carbon from a piece of wood. Or more precisely broke down a piece of wood into its elemental parts and identified the parts.

In all the states from Ohio west, they have land grant colleges. In most states, it is the college with state in the name. For instance Oregon State University and Colorado State University. Part of their public function is to provide data for farmers to use, as they do have agricultural departments. In the literature OSU has put out, they claim increased tree growth (Oregon is the country's top lumber producer) and increased grape yields. All attributed to increases in CO2. In fact the changing climate has made Oregon grapes the envy of the world. Even California producers are buying Oregon grapes. But then western Oregon is considerably more wet than California, and Oregon soil is considerably better. And we do get more sunlight during the growing season.

    Dunning kruger lives.

Perhaps you forgot what you learned in class about the second law of thermodynamics. Increased energy, increased entropy.

Simple reasoning. Of course simple doesn't describe the behavior of the planetary atmosphere

If it was that simple and straightforward, weather prediction would be easy and not require supercomputers and massively complex algorithms in search of accuracy.

For instance, a higher temperatures in the Arctic may radically change the jet stream's course, which moves colder arctic air into warmer southern lands. So while the overall arctic temperature is warmer, the southern temp is colder. So higher temps can produce colder ones elsewhere.

    What about this effect:

    Co·ri·o·lis ef·fect
    /ˌkôrēˈōləs iˌfekt/
    noun
    PHYSICS
    1. an effect whereby a mass moving in a rotating system experiences a force (the Coriolis force ) acting perpendicular to the direction of motion and to the axis of rotation. On the earth, the effect tends to deflect moving objects to the right in the northern hemisphere and to the left in the southern and is important in the formation of cyclonic weather systems.

Yet another aspect of the physics of planetary and atmospheric motion that explains some atmospheric motion and energy transfer.
    What about it?

How can humans change that effect? A lot of people, particularly the Democrats, claim man is the agent for the Climate & assumes he can change that effect. Due to the spinning Earth, I dispute man is the agent of Climate.

Another thing man can't do about Climate. Create clouds. Clouds are an enormous factor of climate.

We aren't in charge of climate, but if we are doing something to it that is harmful, we should probably stop.

Stop, based on what? We can only change a climate if we are in charge.

Nobody can change the basic laws of physics.

I totally agree that humans are NOT the agent of climate. Humans are merely one of many agents of climate change. Its also the ONLY agent that we have some measure of control over.

Clouds are an enormous factor of climate? Well I agree that the water cycle is critical to all life and to earth's climate.

Our atmosphere is essentially a layer of fluid enveloping a 12,000 mile diameter sphere spinning at 24,000 miles an hour while orbiting the sun (93 million miles away) at 70,000 miles an hour, while revolving around the center of the galaxy at 500,000+ miles per hour. That's the starting point for assessing any planetary climate. I wont' get into gravity effects or earth's wobble above and below the galactic plane or other cosmological factors.

Fact is that human generated pollution has rapidly altered the atmosphere's composition. That change effects the total energy retained within the atmosphere. That negatively effects both the overall climate and local weather. Its pretty simple physics at its heart.

We aren't in charge of the climate, but we do emit things that have an effect on the climate. So all we have to do is stop emitting them. No need to manage the climate.

There were Herbivore Dinosaurs and the vegetation to support them between 400 to 1200 miles from the North Pole about 60 Million years ago. The fossilized remains of both don't lie. Something cause the Earth to warm to that extent, man didn't exist and the fossils for oil were still walking around and growing from the ground. So what caused the Earth to warm that much? We know through indisputable fact that there were Herbivore Dinosaurs and the vegetation to support them between 400 to 1200 miles from the North Pole about 60 Million years ago. The Herbivore Dinosaurs multiplied in great numbers, they ate the carbon sinks (trees and foliage) at a prodigious rate and the Earth warmed to that point.

Trump is so intelligent, he is throwing another temper tantrum and refusing to work with Democrats today :D

Trump erupted over Nancy Pelosi's "cover-up" remark, source says

From CNN's Kaitlan Collins, Jeremy Diamond and Pamela Brown

President Trump erupted this morning when he heard Nancy Pelosi accuse him of engaging in a cover up, according to a source familiar with his reaction.

Though he lashed out at the investigations overall in the Rose Garden, this person says he was the angriest about her remark.

Officials insist that if she had not said that, the infrastructure meeting would have gone on as scheduled.

"Bottom line: if Nancy Pelosi had not come out this morning and said what she said about "cover up," they would still be in there right now meeting on infrastructure," one senior White House official argued.
The official said "all was on track" until Pelosi made those comments this morning, setting Trump off.

    What a fracking joke.

That's like saying only the referee can affect the outcome of a basketball game.

What is so sad it is that he appeals to his base and they don’t even realize that he’s insulting their intelligence. Or maybe they just don’t have intelligence and he knows that

Yes that’s what all Democrats say. The world is going to end in 12 years. Lol. But of course all those top scientists from all over the world who fear what is happening to our environment is dangerous are all part of a big conspiracy. To me it is the most selfish thing to not want it explored for our future children and grandchildren and great grandchildren etc. I guess it’s that mentality of “it doesn’t affect me now so who cares”

If the players depart from the court, I guess per you the referee is in charge.

I am mystified at your explanation.

I said what I said due to the Democrats blaming man. But this means Man has the ability to be in charge of Climate. By being in charge, he is able to change climate. I do not buy man is in charge of climate.

If more like you got into an auto accident but only tell the cops all you did was affect the automobile. I doubt they would buy it. I admit to being in charge by driving the car.

Democrats do not like my argument since it shoots down their claims man does this.

I guess what I am also saying is that it would be similar to humans stopping sea rise by all of us rushing to the sea shore to sip up the Ocean. What democrats ask for is impossible.

Stop naming politicians and name the scientists that use your logic.

I wish Democrats quit whining over the global climate. If they believe man can fix it, nothing stops the Democrats from fixing it. I don't care if they fix things.
