That is correct. Hell I told them that the hottest ever at Death Valley, CA was in 1913.It doesn't matter to them.

    100+34 degrees in 1913.

Now when it gets hot, they cry their eyes out at 120 degrees/

It seems the only defense of trump is to attack democrats and leftists and any else who dares point out his myriad deficiencies.

But I do admit it takes a rare intelligence to do it, right out there in public and all. Redhats uber alles.

Hey, I got an idea! If sea level rises two feet. Move to an elevation that is two feet higher!

I see the rest of the flat earthers chimed right in!

Don’t worry thought, the marketplace is making the decision. Coal and nuclear are in decline as the electric power industry embraces renewables, and battery prices continue to drop, making energy storage on a distributed basis available for the first time.

The auto industry is helping drive this change, by embracing the electric car.

You say I have a big mouth
You say what I said about Democrats saying we only got 12 years to live is BS, but you dodge the word filter.
You say I'm talking out my ass

Then I make you look clueless and you get all triggered and try to go all TOS on me

Can you tell the average global temperature for the year of 307689 BC with accuracy of up to 0.5 degrees?
If you can’t then comparing today’s accurate measurements to those ice core estimates is like whacking off and calling it sex.
If scientists are so good at tracing and estimating things based on ocean currents, ice cores and ocean sediments then why MH370 hasn’t been found yet? This must be a piece of cake for them - sniff that water and estimate the amount of crap those passengers released into the ocean before perishing.

Worked in these temps for years.

When 120+ hits you its like opening an oven.

That is to say, when the desert breeze is 130 plus, and you just can't believe it.

    Its not decent.

Oh my, you don't know weather is now and climate is overall? If the overall climate is dangerously warmer, then the local weather should reflect that trend. Our temperature should be a few degrees warmer than normal, not snowing at the end of May in Southern California. You should be able to see why folks think the Warmies are full of crap don't you?

That is not at all what we were talking about, but go ahead and change the topic when your friends have been proven wrong.

    The facts are:
    - atmospheric CO2 concentration has increased from 280 to over 410 ppm since 1880.
    - CO2 is a greenhouse gas. The increased concentration is predicted to result in a warming world.
    - the planet is warming. Reduced sea-ice cover in the Arctic and Antarctic are indicators of that.
    - the scientific consensus is that, taking all potential factors into account, most of the warming that the planet is experiencing is a result of increased CO2 levels.

You want to ignore the scientific consensus because you don't like the road that takes us down.

Any intellectually honest and reasonably intelligent person will accept the scientific consensus. That does not mean we have to agree on the response, but it is just ignorant to disregard the consensus. Mankind's actions ARE warming the planet.

    Responses could include:
    - ignore it. OK, this time it is down to us, but this has happened before. No big deal.
    - reverse it. Stop using fossil fuels and find a way to return CO2 levels to "natural" levels - say 280-300 ppm.
    - prepare for it. It is going to happen, so let's plan for all the things that might happen. Higher sea levels. Floods, droughts. Arid land becoming farmable and farmable land becoming arid. Etc.
    - a mix of measures aimed at reducing the emissions and managing the effects.

Maybe you prefer to sit in the "ignore" camp. Fine. But that is not a reason to disregard the science.

The hottest day on record I worked in was 115 and it lasted a week. Unofficially the temperature on the office trailer thermometer outside was 130; So hot we all drank water voraciously and damned near died from the heat.

Atmospheric CO2 Concentrations At 400 PPM Are Still Dangerously Low For Life On Earth

[IMG]With atmospheric CO2 concentrations reaching the 400 ppm level, the media and a number of alarmist scientists have set off the mega-alarm bells, claiming “record high levels” of CO2 had been reached, and that the planet is on the verge of an overdose. This is based purely on ignorance of the Earth’s history.

Worrying that 400 ppm is too high is like worrying about your fuel tank overflowing when it reaches the 1/8 mark during filling.

Figure above-right: At 400 ppm CO2 levels are actually dangerously low in historical terms.

From a historical perspective, an atmospheric CO2 concentration of 400 ppm is actually almost scraping the bottom of the barrel. Over the Earth’s history, atmospheric CO2 concentrations have ranged from 180 ppm to 7000 ppm, see Figure 1 below. On that scale we are in fact today barely above the Earth’s record lows.

[IMG]Figure 1: Atmospheric CO2 concentration is just barely above the life-sustaining levels of 150 ppm. For life to have real buffer against mass extinction, CO2 needs to be closer to 1000 ppm. Source here.

    Trump and too ontelligent?
This statement is in itself a contradiction in itself ... no matter what the topic is.

And that this Clown in White House is too silly to understand the topic of climate change, everybody knows .. besides his fans and some hardcore skeptics who stubbornly ignore all facts and cling to straws, if any US scientist, of which never anyoone ever heard before denies the climate change ... whether he works on closer inspection of his argument in the end only with bullshit as data.

That is ridiculous. For hundreds of thousands of years, CO2 concentration has fluctuated between about 180 and 300 ppm. Life everywhere has thrived. Current CO2 levels are about 50% higher than they have ever been while humans have walked the earth.

If this is the kind of argument you bring, you are not intelligent enough for me to debate with you. Bye.

More than that - it is essential.

But that doesn't mean "more is better".

It is true that CO2 used to be as high as 4,000 ppm. Today’s 415 is not really a big deal from historic perspective and is actually much closer to historic low of 180 than historic high of 4,000.
