    He fought for the South and I am not sure about his unit. He was captured and spent the end of the war in a POW camp. The war was almost over when he was captured. I will find out the other details and get back to you. He was in a lot of the battles. They said he hated to hear it thunder because it reminded him of the cannons going off.

    He fought for the 51st Georgia Infantry Company C. He was captured at the battle of Sailors Creek three days before General Lee surrendered.

    Greetings, folks. Well, not how i expected to be spending my long weekend, but Im in the hospital. Got real sick last and decided it was appendicitis. Called ambulance about 9 had surgery at 11. Keeping me a day or two since it was perforated. Everything happened so fast, still in a daze. Enjoying lovely liquid dinner. If somebody could slip me a little bottle of Jack, i could use it to wash down this jello. ;)

    That is a nasty feeling after the surgery. Been there and done that . Not the perforated, mine was just the plain old appendicitis. Can’t even imagine the pain you were having.
    Hope you get well real soon. Keep us posted on how you are doing.
    Enjoy the pampering you are going to get.

    Yeah, those 3 am blood draws are real treats! Everyone is very nice. Actually slow at the hospital because many docs took vacation this week and didnt schedule surgeries. Explains the proliferation of hunky young docs. Hubba hubba. *ouch*

    It waa a close call, gf. Paramedics kept asking if I was sure I wanted to go. Guess they get a lotta false alarms. Last time I was in an ambulance I was 12 and cut my foot at a YWCA party. Might've been horse drawn, dont remember. Got some pain, but got pain meds so not too bad. Feeling like a pin cushion. ;)

    Go slow and steady. Take it easy and heal proper. A perforated appendix is no joking matter. That could get serious really quick. Good thing you went.
    Are you on an IV with antibiotics?


    How long until you get to go home?
    How much sick leave can you get?
    How long until you can booze it up again?

    For sure they don't make it convenient in the hospital. Sleep is out of the question. How long will you have to stay in the hospital?

    Prob be here til Mon. 3 IVs in rt arm. On 2nd bag of antibiotics. Drain tube in stomach. Im a holey mess. Figure ill hold off on boozing til at least noon. Lol
