a child of 12 or 13 maybe, course why would a God want to get a child pregnant? live in her privates for 9 months, then be born? seems creepy...

especially when he could of just created himself from dust like he is said to have down with Adam

So you knew about it before searching for it. So how did you know about it?

both, but no expert by any means, I know the bible better then the sumerian texts, but always interested to learn more

theists destroyed much ancient knowledge, glad this was salvaged and not destroyed as this was written long before the bible and the stories are so similar

And did you read anything which debunked the connection?

nope, the stories are pretty similar, the comparison is pretty obvious and the Sumerian texts came first, so that pretty much seals the deal that the bible was a re-write of the Sumerian texts

you will have to read up on it, it's interesting for sure

"A re-write?" So you think that everything in the Bible was in the Sumerian texts?

nope, that would be like saying everything in the Christian bible matches the Jewish Bible

or that the Muslims, Mormons, Jews and Christians believe the same things as they believe in the same God... re-writes change things, add new things, remove things

there may of even been religion in-between the two that have long been forgotten that the bible stole from, the new is often built on top of the old, they often built religious buildings on Pagan sites as an example

look at the current Calendar and the pagan God's names for the days of the week even

"Pagan Gods and the naming of the days"

    https://www.ancient-origins.net/myths-legends/pagan-gods-and-naming-days-001037

"Thursday was “Thor’s Day”, named after the Norse god of thunder and lightning and is the Old Norse equivalent to Jupiter. Thor is often depicted holding a giant hammer and during the 10 th and 11 th centuries when Christians tried to convert the Scandinavians, many wore emblems of Thor’s hammer as a symbol of defiance against the new religion."

Let's take the flood event. Are you saying that just because it was recorded in Sumerian texts, this means that it didn't happen?

it means the original flood story came from the Sumerian texts is what I am saying.. the bible just copied it and made it their own

what I am not doing is saying the Sumerian texts are any more or less true then the bible, just that the Sumerian texts came first

it's just interesting how religions evolve over time

But if the flood happened, then why isn't it possible that both texts independently recorded it?

cause if the Sumerian texts recorded it and they came way way before the bible, then it already happened before the bible story, and the Jewish writers just added it to their religion too

why would one choose the hand me down version of a story more then original texts of that event?

it's like the Telephone game... start with the original version.... as the later version are most likely changed in many ways

it would be like getting to the last person in the telephone game and saying, why would I want to compare it to the original, the last person got it right

I wonder how much knowledge we lost from religions destroying all writing by people with differing religions?

Because if the God of the Old Testament caused the flood, then the Sumerian texts didn't mention it. That's where the Bible comes in.

they did mention what cause the flood and their story was the original, the OT copied off of it and added to their texts

the God's were extraterrestrial, but it was planet 9 that cause the floods and science thinks there might just be a planet 9, something the bible left out from the original story

How do you know that the original story got it right?

never claimed they did, just that it is a story that came long before the bible...

how do you know the bible got it right?

you need to have the same skepticism towards your own beliefs

And what do you think that demonstrates?

    That's what faith is.

Seems more like you don’t know the meaning of non sequitur. So again I’ll ask...when you said my position was “idiotic”, was that supposed to be a compliment???
Why don’t you believe in any other god?

It means that he was born in the same way as all past and future people, other than of course Adam.
