They can but they don't; do they ? Last I check we were the dominant American country. It may not last for long though as we have we are being infested with illegals who want to make our once great country a ****-hole like the ones they came from.
Yes, language needs to be rewritten just because of an extreme minority of people in the world, who technically have certain wires crossed....a little nutty. People with multiple personalities have disorders. People with extreme mood swings have disorders. But people who can’t decide what they are, are normal? Something is off.
I think the post is used to compare their ideas with those of blue collar workers to show the stark disconnect. Could be wrong though My question on the manholes thing is isn't there more pressing matters to address than something that seems so trivial?
So are those countries going to follow suit? Here's a thought for you, We will refer to ourselves as Americans because we always have and we don't really give a lot of thought who those people South of us are at home. When you travel the world and tell someone you are American do they think you're from Guatemala or the US?
While I see what your saying but what you bring up has been that way for awhile so why didn't Past generations fix it? Democrats are trying to sell that global warming is going to be the demise of the planet so why aren't they using all their time and effort to address that instead of seemingly trivial things?
How ironic this is your response to conservatives. Reread the OP, now who is the snowflakes? Decide who is doing the crying and stick to it.
You are correct, so if it's insensitve to say el gato or la gato, what the heck are we supposed to call the cat to appease the snowflake progressives.
Government is making tough choices for Americans everyday and if a person is more worried about not offending people than tackling the hard problems are we sure we want them leading us?
When those who are the most removed from the business of survival are given power, this is what happens. How many Kings and Despots have created anything but awful societies? Not one has managed Utopia, and none will. Utopia (a nonsense to even pursue, but be that as it may) comes from the minds and hands of those who understand what actually matters.
"American" obviously applies to U.S. citizens, and will continue to apply to U.S. citizens, no matter what this state college recommends. Did anyone look at the date on the statement linked in the OP? It's from Oct. 2018. Nobody cares about this. But let's say some Democrat President got in, and said, "You know, I think we should use "U.S. citizen" instead of "American", because let's be nice to other countries, and not hog the term, and let them call themselves Americans if they want to." And that would be outrageous because...? How would anyone's life be any different?
That is true, and that's a problem with the Left. This latest episode with Trump, though, was clearly racist, which is why he had to walk it back. But yeah, the Left has watered the term down.
Because it's not about the word, it's about the end goal (in this case, globalism). But even if it was just words .. that would be Orwellian. Control the language, and you control the people.
Nothing would change, Americans would still be Americans and we would have a Republican President in the next election.
