The melting that is happening right now in Greenland looks pretty serious to me. I sure am thankful that the nation of Israel has already developed the technology to desalinate ocean water on a mega- scale. We may soon find that turning deserts green is A LOT LESS EXPENSIVE than building sea walls, dikes, levees and other ways to protect vulnerable communities from the threat of rising ocean levels. Heat wave over Greenland causing massive ice melt "More than 10 billion tonnes of ice was lost to the oceans by surface melt on Wednesday"
CIA economist did the following audio video back in 2014. It is pretty pessimistic but on the plus side it kind of sets us up to consider win - win - win - win alternatives. FORGET IRAN, IRAQ, UKRAINE THIS IS WHERE WWIII STARTS... After listening to that video perhaps ten times I concluded: Responding to a BEAR market vs a Bull market?
Can large scale desalination of ocean water in Israel, Jordan, Australia, California, Qatar, Tunisia, Morocco, Saudi Arabia and in other nations with lots of desert save the homes of people in New Orleans, Miami, The Netherlands, Bangladesh, the Maldives.... etc., etc., etc. Should Sorek 2 be in Australia or California? Megascale Desalination The world’s largest and cheapest reverse-osmosis desalination plant is up and running in Israel. Availability: now Thankfully more options are now available on what to do with the byproducts of desalination. Turning desalination waste into a useful resource Process developed at MIT could turn concentrated brine into useful chemicals, making desalination more efficient.
Is the sand on the Sahara Desert hot in the afternoon and early evening? Yes... .very. Is that same sand cool near sunrise? Yes... surprisingly! Where did the heat go....... Obviously into the atmosphere. This brings us back to at least some aspect of a theory put forward by a New Mexico biologist and coach:
My recent NDE allowed me to ask Rabbi Jebesus about alien abduction leading to the face on Mars talking to me in dreams and he said desalination on the temple mount would allow for the wailing wall to weep mermaid tears of golden fleece. I'm now running for state senator to implement his grand plan of desert forestry and sand regurgitation.
LOL! That is funny but you have to admit.. the fact that this basic idea fits with Isaiah chapter thirty five means that it will be a lot easier to sell this idea to conservatives than the idea of a silly Carbon Tax that would do NOTHING to protect vulnerable communities from the threat of rising ocean levels. https://www.newshub.co.nz/home/worl...-graph-that-s-shocked-climate-scientists.html
Elon Musk estimates he could get a million people settled on mars for $200B. That is, a theoretically sustainable colony, not just 'dropped off to die.' As a reference point, thats what the US spends every 5 years warring in Afghanistan. As another reference point, the most optimistic estimates of the cost of stabilizing the greenhouse effect attributed to manmade climatic change is $1T (or 5 colonies of 1M each on mars) per year for 10 years. Given the plethora of ways humans could be wiped out on earth anyway, I think extraplanetary colonization is the way to go here.
Here's a link on earth's ice ages https://www.newscientist.com/article/dn18949-the-history-of-ice-on-earth/ We're currently still going through the Quaternary ice age.
I so thank you for this link...... you reminded me of some books that I read back during the '90's and as I was researching the Immanuel Velikovsky theory on magnetic polar shifts I ran into a concession by Charles Hapgood to Dr. Albert Einstein that is indeed profoundly encouraging! https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cataclysmic_pole_shift_hypothesis This is a massive relief to me personally because I read a statement by Graham Hancock that up until a few moments ago was causing me considerably more concern: Gershom Gale backed up Graham Hancock's numbers on the amount of H2O being ADDED annually to Central Antarctica: If NASA is correct... .the amount of snow and ice being added to Antarctica annually is way down from what it was a few decades ago?! NASA Study: Mass Gains of Antarctic Ice Sheet Greater than Losses
I wouldn't get concerned with ice and snow, it'll all eventually disappear, whether anyone speeds it up or not. Whether earthquakes or volcanoes or both increase with the displacement of weight is not something I worry about. I would suggest people start moving and building on higher ground now, sea levels will rise considerably. Eventually sea temperatures will hit 35c as they've done in the past and if mankind is still here, the earth will then begin to cool.
Sea levels once hit 35C!!!!! Wow!!!!!!!!!!!!! So that was probably the time that Dr. James Hansen wrote about when sea levels rose by twenty to twenty five meters over about four centuries?
