I learned about concrete during one of my solo trips to Galveston when they were redoing the sidewalks along the seawall. From my balcony, I watched their progress every day and finally the new cement was poured. Later that night, it rained.

Now when I go there I recognize the big white rectangles that never blended into the rest of the sidewalk.

Lesson learned: don't pour concrete when it might rain.

One does not have to contract either The Clap or Syphyllis
to have a girlfriend or sex.But if one is allergic to Penicillin
they have to be extra careful. This buddy of mine was also super
cautious with the Car his parents let him have once he went off to
college his Sophomore year.He got this Nice big Cutless and
trained himself on how to change the oil and spark plugs and check the
timing with a timing light. But he was a real pain in the butt with that
car.He would lock the doors no matter what.If he stepped out of the car even for
20 seconds he would turn off the car and lock the doors.
He also swore that version cutlass could not be used for towing.
Even a mini U-Haul with trailer hitch.
He also kind of insisted that no matter what on Sunday he
had to go to mass.I was skipping mass once I went off to college.
I was also cutting class.Eventually I developed a habit of just not
going to class as much as possible.I would stay back in our Off
Campus house { pretty much a hovel } and sleep-in then either
roll a joint while listening to the stereo or finish a roach laying around.
So I was getting used to coping a Buzz in the mid-morning.
Which ended up creating a mindset of apathy for going down to campus.
Then i'd spend the rest of the day figuring out how to get a 6-pack
and some snacks for the day and night.

Ha! This is 2 years old; you may have seen it. But I saw it for the first time today. I don't see a "Funny Videos" thread, so I figure the bar patrons can use a chuckle.

Airline pilot text messages his wife while landing ...

Woke up 30 min late, hit the floor running. Quick shower, make up, dress... out the door on time... and it's pouring rain.

Gonna be a good day y'all!

Yesterday day started off with 99% humidity with 78 degrees and ended with 103 and 52% humidity. I think we are having Texas weather, except for the humidity it is a killer.

You know that really happens, don't you? My Grandpa had an iron wash pot for watering in his barnyard, wish I had that iron pot now. Those things are a bit pricey, not to mention how much a clawfoot bathtub costs.

I watched the "I'm smart!" scene yesterday.
Very funny in the context of todays "news".

It's the burdens of command. Not enough leisure time left for frequent bar stops. ;-)

But for the rest of us Good Time Charlies:

That free pizza at the Crocodile Lounge is the real deal - especially during happy hour.

Even though it goes this way ...
    The Germans are the mechanics
    The French are the Cooks
    The Italians are the Lovers { Gigolos}
I find it a virtual toss-up as to who cooks best.
    The French or the Italians.
Same with their cheese.I give the French a big edge in wines.
The Italians a big edge in broad chasing.
The Italians have a way with Fast cars and sporty motorcycles.
    Same with their Gals.

Yes, many Italians are good cooks.
Louie Prima was probably a good cook, but really just a great singer.

    - The Godfather - { 1972 } is a really good movie but like
    another Movie considered one of the best - Casablanca - { 1942 }
it's really NOT all that. It's too long { not really } therefore watching
    every year is not practical.
Plus there are 2 sequels. It is NOT Brando's Best.Far,far, from it.
A Brando movie I doubt many have seen is a much better performance.
    That being - The Chase - { 1966 } is much more dynamic,exciting
and full of great cast.Like an early Robert Duval.Robert Redford and
Jane Fonda.E.G.Marshall and old timer Henry Hull.
Plus plenty of galsy like Angie Dickinson,Martha Hyer,Janice Rule
Diana Hyland and even Brando's sister { Jocelyn } playing someone
    25 years her senior.Plus it's a Great summertime movie.

Concrete is here! It's heavy work. I'm glad that I'm not doing it.

Any time they're working, they want me there. I don't know why. I feel like I should be holding a shovel.

Whatcha been up to, gf? Any fun trips planned? I'm going to a karaoke party at Lake Texoma next weekend. All the Texas divas going up to support our Oklahoma diva who's the party hostess at a bar & grill on the lake. Last year there were over 40 singers! Guess not much else to do up there. ;)
