* I said "pretend" but you didn't like it ... * so I gave you the alternative of "fantasy" .... * and you somehow turn that into you "fantasizing about it". Interesting. Look up the terms fantasy and fantasizing.
You were discussing not allowing teenagers to buy a rifle and comparing them with the laws on alcohol and equating drunk driving(the act committed after purchasing the alcohol) to just purchasing a rifle. To compare them, you would need to compare the acts committed after purchasing said product. And they kill waaaaaaaaaay more than guns. Guns do an awful job of killing comparatively and they are designed for it? Rifles can’t even beat out hands and feet as implements of murder, but you want to erode my civil rights? No thank you. That same aged kid can go fight and die for our country. With the military version of a rifle you want to ban. BTW, most of those places are shot up with handguns by gangbangers. Handguns are far more lethal than rifles are in terms of amount of people harmed in the US with them. By a lot. And you have one warning from me: do not edit my posts.
Hold it right there. Guns have one purpose and one purpose only .... putting holes in things and/or persons. In other words, guns are manufactured for the purpose of destruction and every time you pull the trigger you destroy or kill something or someone. How in Satan's Hole of Fire you can compare that to "hands and feet" is a question that can only lead the discussion to the ultra absurd.
What gets me is when they talk about 'gun buy backs', as if the firearm property in question at one time belonged to the government. Sorry, mine aren't for sale.
Yeah there's a huge misconception going around that folks are going to willingly sell their guns to the government if they ask nicely and/or threaten people will felony charges or something. And if folks refuse then the cops or I guess the military is supposed to make them comply I suppose. I think people tend to forget that the "government" and law enforcement and other agencies are not separate entities from "the people". As if when the alarm bell sounds all of these folks are going to line up in goosestep and wait for orders or something. Over half of the Sheriffs and County Commissioners in Colorado openly gave the state the middle finger in regards to something as simple as Red Flag laws. Good luck trying to get law enforcement to enforce a gun ban or a buyback program.
Who the guns belong to have nothing to do with anything. You are only law-abiding if you don't break the law. If the law says it's illegal to own guns then you have two choices: 1. Turn in your guns and stay law-abiding 2. Refuse to turn your guns in and become a criminal. If you don't want the money ..... who cares?
It's also illegal for the government to break the law seeing how they are not above the law. Without a Constitutional Amendment it is illegal for the government to pass a law that says "it's illegal to own guns".
Not big on human rights or the Constitution are you? It’s sad to see people that have human rights protected like few humans in history flush it all down the toilet. Yep, just sad.
Oh, I am VERY BIG on human rights. That's why I don't like seeing so many innocent Americans getting blasted away by guns. The Constitution? Hey man, it's good by me! What I don't like are Amendments that some Johnie-cum-lately sticks into the Constitution and then a government too pussied to change it (because of corrupt politics) while thousands of Americans are getting their guts sprayed all over the cities and landscape. It’s sad to see people that have primitive laws on the books that cause so much suffering and death of the innocent and twist their minds (by horrific propaganda) into believing it's for their own good. Yep, just sad. Really, really sad.
Are you saying that if you moved to the US you would murder folks with a firearm? That is essentially your argument. You do know if you are ok with the Constitution you are ok with any amendments because article 5 is right there in the heart of the Constitution? The Constitution was ratified in 1790 and the Bill of Rights of the “Johnny come lately” took effect in 1791. Furthermore, the people can repeal the 2A any time they choose. Tell me about these primitive laws. I’m interested in specifics.
English comprehension not your thing? I said, ”I don't like seeing so many innocent Americans getting blasted away by guns.” Did you notice the word DON'T? Do you really, really, really, really, really , really, really not know what an ”Amendment” is? I am thinking you don't. Tell me, Sherlock, have you not figured out it is exactly those Americans who want a repeal that I support? What do you think I have been talking about all of this time? One of these practices is civilized behaviour the other is primitive: 1. Discussing differences of opinion and coming to an agreement. 2. Pulling out your pop-gun and shooting someone dead for not agreeing with you. Laws that support one or the other reflect the behaviour it represents.
So you are unable to answer my question? If our Bill of Rights and laws are causing innocents to be blasted away, would you blast away if you lived here? Yes or no? You say you don’t want innocent Americans to die. Why aren’t you bent out of shape over our permissive laws on alcohol consumption? Something responsible for far more death and suffering than firearms. Perhaps you aren’t really concerned about death or suffering. I pointed out your error on timing of the Bill of Rights. I referenced Article V of the Constitution. I also pointed out your error on who amends the constitution. What leads you to believe I don’t know what an amendment is? Be specific. I’m sorry, but the citizens of this country haven’t much interest in amending the Constitution to make you happy. There are a few confused people who talk about it, but no real interest. Mainly because the vast majority understands the value of the Bill of Rights. What laws support shooting someone over a difference of opinion? How would a law banning firearms be enforced on people who disagreed with such a law? Have you ever considered civilization as we know it today would almost certainly not exist if not for the United States and it’s form of government?
I have answered your question several times. It must be your English comprehension that is causing you trouble.
You have not answered whether you would shoot people or not if you lived in the US. I accept your inability to do so as concession on the entire matter. Good luck with those amendments.
Good. Then we won’t see you here repeating lame talking points in an attempt to change laws and forms of government you demonstrated you don’t understand.
If you actually understood what I told you it would improve your understanding of how American politics works and offer you a way out of the national, psychological destitution that the U.S. finds itself in. Ho-hum.
Sure. Advice from a guy who thought the 2A was a Johnny come lately addition to the Constitution. Your the clear expert. I’ve understood all you’ve said. It’s clearly wrong and I’ve demonstrated that it is. I never expected you to answer the question. I know you cannot because it mires you in an inescapable conundrum where you have to admit you’re operating from a false premise. I thank you for helping with my demonstration. You have surely pushed some fence sitters over to my side of logic and reason. Few people are interested in authoritarian policy when that policy is based on falsehoods and ignorance. Clearly a few are willing to pursue such policy with full knowledge of it’s consequences and foundations. As we see here, even they are useful in the preservation of freedom. Useful as reminders there are still uncivilized among us who would force their will on others while masquerading as saviors. Again, many thanks.
I know that your education is not my responsibility. I was only being kind and lending a hand in bettering your understanding of reality. But if you want to refuse the facts, that's completely up to you. It's no sweat off of my jewels.
WRONG 80% of gun violence is gang related and done with illegally obtained firearms almost exclusively handguns.
None of your assertions were facts. I debunked them all. You have no idea of realities in the US. You have done nothing more than make hyperbolic claims about violence committed with firearms and make blatantly erroneous statements about the Constitution. Hopefully you are not responsible for anyone’s education. Here’s another question for you. How could you better my understanding of a reality I live? You don’t even understand the Constitution that is readily available for anyone to study. Yet you think you are qualified to pontificate on firearms and their use in diverse cultural enclaves in a country on a different continent than your own. What makes you more knowledgeable of a reality others are living and you are not?
