Paying more for worse outcomes than the proven superior alternative is intentional stupidity.

Ok....then let folks be stupid then.

Why does that bother you so much? It's their money not yours that they're spending irresponsibly...

How is someone choosing to spend more of their personal money on healthcare than you deem necessary affecting you personally?

You've already posted that link in this thread and it didn't answer my question. On defining "better" it uses "responsiveness," "fair financing," and "Health inequality." In other words, universal care is better because...universal care. It tells me nothing about health care.

It rates the US as 37, so that means that healthcare in Morocco and Costa Rica is better than the US, as well as Colombia. Cuba is ranked at 39. You may actually think that Cuba's healthcare system is only two behind the US, but that seems to invalidate the study to me.

Because we don’t have single payer. But we will in the next few years.

You’re welcome to post a study which refutes it.

Any study/data that equates Cuban medical care to that in the US is BS.

    That's fair.

But you see this is the overall crux of the argument. "You" want "me" to do something that will supposedly benefit "us". And since not everybody actually believes nor supports that you believe they should be FORCED to do it anyway.

^^That's what folks don't like. People like to be able to do what THEY want to do with THEIR money, even if it's "stupid" as you claim.

For one not everybody actually believes that this single payer system is going to work the way you personally think it will. Not even close. And two, not everybody wants to give up their choice of how to spend their money so that YOU can have what you believe will be cheaper healthcare. And three, people can see right through this and understand exactly what this system actually is: Not everybody in America can actually afford quality health insurance or any health insurance at all, large financial bills can be financially damning for a lot of people. Millions of Americans earn enough money to pay for quality private insurance and still have plenty of disposable income, millions of other Americans can't afford health coverage at all. So in an effort of "fairness" and "morality" we should take some money for the people who can afford it and give it to the people who don't. Instead of some Americans having great health coverage and some having zero health coverage we'll all just have mediocre health coverage that's only actually funded by a fraction of us for the benefit of all of us.

Well, you’ve been forced to do things you don’t want your entire life. So has every other human being on the planet. It’s called civilization.

Since the rich in this country have never paid a "fair share" because tax shelters, tax loopholes, tax exemptions, tax deductions, etc., etc. were written into the U. S. Tax Code, the only way your question can be fairly answered is this way:

Take all the tax shelters, tax loopholes, tax exemptions, tax deductions, tax exclusions, etc. OUT of the U. S. Tax Code and then what the rich in this country pay, without all their special "write-off's", will be the fair amount. How's that for an honest attempt to clean this corrupt, endlessly-unfair mess up once and for all?

Don't worry... it will never happen! The wealthy in both political parties have no (NO) intention of ever allowing a FAIR U. S. Tax Code in this country. So, the poor pay nothing... the rich pay little or nothing... and the Middle-Class Taxpayer takes it right up the ass! That's the way it has been in this country for DECADES.... :buggered:

I did, and it's clear that you're just ignoring it because you can't refute it.

A simple question what is their "fair share"? How can you claim they have not paid their "fair share" if you cannot clearly and concisely state what it is?
