This border wall provides protection and a barrier from apprehension. It aids drug trafficking. That’s why we monitor open areas electronically then send free moving patrols to intercept. The last thing we need is a wall that authorities have to drive miles just to get to the other side. You’re living in the 17 th century. Of course, one person on land can carry 20 to 30 lbs of drugs in his back on ground in the open....

We arm the world, or at least those we think can influence to be pro US. But, like the foreign aid that we gift, much of it ends up in the hands of strong men that operate much like local medieval despots that then peddle, sell, and apply those gifts to enhance their power and attract indebted and dependent followers. Commodities like weapons end up traded in a black network that supplies other strong men. Over the last hundred years lots of American guns have found their way through out Mid and South America, augmented by weapons often pilfered directly from military and police armies and sold by various corrupt military commanders and local police groups directly to anyone with the funds. It isn’t that difficult to acquire weapons, often full auto, South of our border; all you need is cash...preferably American Currency. Need a permit? Those too can be purchased. As for the cartels, it’s not a huge difficulty to buy what they want, when they want it, nor, to receive imports from China, Eastern Block Countries, particularly when you can pay to control certain shipments at the ports. Many of the weapons flowed north to Mexico along the path of the drugs, not south.
I spent a good deal of time below the border, and while we weren’t in the drug trade, it wasn’t difficult to acquire side arms or something like a fully Auto AK...they were inexpensive, the permit to have the weapons, a bit more expensive... but if you had the money.
The only people that don’t have guns, are the majority...the poor that can’t afford them. And those people, don’t dare offend the men with guns; lots desolate places the further south you go to disappear someone.

 

I would privately demand that my CIA operatives and investigators be permitted into the region and to have access to any available information. I would publicly voice my support for the Mexican Government and off the complete support of the United States in whatever manner they should deem necessary to bring those killers to justice. I would personally speak with the family privately and issue my condolences and promise to expend all available resources to ensure that justice is brought about swiftly and that the family is afforded additional protection going forward.
