Jesus Christ! these people that are offended by this Peloton ad need to get a life. I'm sure most of the people who are complaining are ones like the lady below. She could use a Peloton I watch this video when I'm feeling down and sad, always brightens my day.
I can only imagine what kind of life a person must lead if the first thing they do after analyzing a commercial is go on Twitter and let the world know how offended they are. Talk about powder puffs. If libs really want to analyze commercials, then perhaps they might want to take a look and find out why black people appear in them at a percentage which far exceeds their population ratio. They may also want to take a look at how blacks are portrayed in those commercials, because first we're told blacks are oppressed, but in the commercials they are the leaders of industry, scholars, they have big houses, drive nice cars and they keep their cholesterol in check. Meanwhile, the white guy..... Hey libs I was talking to guy at work today and we thought up something new for you to be outraged over and it's a Christmas song. Ready? "...He sees you when you're sleeping, he knows when you're awake." How many weekends just got ruined?
There is so much more to being fit and healthy. Weight and appearance are only an indicator not the answer. People angry don’t understand fitness.
This is absolutely ridiculous. I just watched a Kaiser Permanente commercial with a transvestite reading to children in it being celebrated. Orwellian bullshit going on nowadays. Nuclear families bad!
Yea. Righties are the ones who drone on about 'patriarchy'. You literally have no argument so you try to claim that the outrage might actually be from the right. You know, with certainty, the political beliefs of those complaining about this ad. Keep making us all laugh by denying it.
I'll bite and rant... I've been a transportational and recreational cyclist my entire life. I even fabricate my own recumbent cycles. I cant imagine pedalling and going nowhere. Cycling is about taking in the sights, leaning into the curves, getting chased by dogs and getting cut off in traffic, along with so many other things. I used to love, self supported, solo touring. Everything I need to go wherever, sleep in a tent wherever sundown finds me. A 40 pound load of the essentials. My latest ride, I built. Yep, leather bucket seat. Two cases of beer fit nicely on that back rack, bungee it down! Get Er Done!
True women are fat, ugly, nags who wear stilettos to pierce a man’s nuts while demanding he kiss her ass. Any woman who wishes to look beautiful, takes good care of herself, enjoys being feminine more than being feminist, loves being good to her man is not a true independent soul, she’s a “Stepford Wife.” This ad violate that principle—It showed a woman, beautiful, appreciative, in love with her man, and her life. Oh, that’s naughty, naughty, naughty.

GEE, Maybe they were the typical fat slob righties who resent people who look and feel better than they ever could ??? No, I was showing how the righties have no proof that it was the left that complained BUT SAID SO ANYWAY... No, and neither do any righties... "us" ? What? You speak for "us" ? Who is that and do they know you speak for them ?You need backup for your statements?
Pssst. We conservatives viewed the post as humorous whether or not it was accurate. No room for humor in politics.
I saw a new Peloton ad today. It featured a man. A I had a nice Peugeot stolen in 1979. I found the thief and put him down flat on the deck. I painted the Peugeot flat black ugly with a rattle can and had no problems after that. They were never going to put me in the Big Ole Ride Around Gaul anyway. Yeah, I must feel the wind. I'm riding an entry level chrome-moly steel frame now. No ooh's or aah's, but it's enough for me.
You are pathetically trying to win an argument based on technicalities. I stand by what i said. When something is blatantly obvious, it's ok to state it as such. That's all I'm doing while you're trying to wiggle your way towards a conclusion that fits your politics. Fine, not wasting anymore time arguing with someone who won't admit the obvious because their politics takes precedence over everything else.

NO one has shown the politics of the complainers...you sure haven't … you just wiggled your way towards a conclusion that fits your politics
For me it that there is no gun rack or beer holder! If they are available options then I'm good with it have no complaints..
The outrage over the Peloton ad is about as dumb as it gets. I've seen the ad and there's nothing about it to be outraged about other than paying a couple thousand dollars for a bicycle that doesn't go anywhere. But selling overpriced luxury items to people with money is as old as American consumerism is, making Peloton one of a countless number of companies to have done it and thus, hardly worthy of being singled out. Nor did I see any problems with the ad other than the poor guy who only got a video for Christmas after spending over 2K on a stationary bike for his wife the year before.
Well, if we can create even more back story around the ad, mine is to hope he got paid back with a lot more than a video...
I get a hilarious kick out of the Sauvage men's perfume ad: Use Sauvage and you too will meet an 1800 pound bison on the road and will bury expensive jewelry in the desert. But I'm not against the ad.
So I just watched it and while I find it rather innocuous, I do understand some of the outrage once someone described it as the beginning of a Black Mirror Episode. I think the issue is that the ads targets financial lifestyles far above that of the average individual who would see this commercial. Super expensive style ads don't usually make it into the 'normie' market because it makes people realize how 'not rich' they actually are. I mean, the house this person 'lives in', the clothes, the constant need to video tape themselves talking (plus the self angle for a video?) just screams 'out of touch'. I don't think the 'ad' in and unto itself has any issues, but it definitely isn't reflective of the average individual's life and needs (even if they work out all the time). A good way to look at it is imagine if Walmart started advertising Ferrari's in store? Chances are good people aren't going to be happy to be reminded that they are likely middle-class and lower and could never ever afford such a thing.
Good points, although I would like to remind everybody that I got my Ferrari at Walmart on Black Friday... they were discounted down to $79.99... A pretty good deal, if I do say so myself... As somebody pointed out on an earlier post, ads for products for the wealthy have been around since there have been ads for products... If you cannot afford this product, it doesn't mean it's a bad product, just move on... But I don't think this faux outrage is about the product itself, as far as I can determine. I did see that Ryan Reynolds used this scenario to advertise his (likely) cut rate gin product, so that's thinking outside of the box... https://www.yahoo.com/entertainment/infamous-peloton-wife-now-appears-192354254.html
Every time I go into town I'm reminded that I can't afford a new Chevy four-door truck or would have to sacrifice so much to get it that it ain't worth it. Ferrari? Not even within my consciousness. It's not a useful vehicle. Whoever wants one go ahead, it's none of my business. Enjoy it if possible.
Most 'luxury' goods aren't advertised in traditional markets. I think that this is probably not the 'best' example, but I think in a world are very cognizant of the 'uncanny valley' idea where these people don't feel like 'real humans'. It's just a little to 'fake' and I think that is what people really picked up on. Nope. I always laugh when I see the videos of guys in super low sports cars having to use little ramps or whatnot to get over speed bumps. I see a few fancy sports cars in the summer here, but I can't imagine owning a super expensive vehicle that I can only drive for a few months out of the year.
Seems he got a happy wife as part of the deal.. And if you have ever been married or especially divorced you would understand the value in that.
