There are too many for me to keep up with with varying degrees of insanity. Ask one of them or their elected representatives.

Which trump admin policies do y’all believe contributed to this decline?
I would love to read about them — to give credit when credit is due.

Which is definitely great news — coal is far from a clean energy source and is damaging to both the employees and the local environment.

Was trump involved in this or was it just market factors?

Trump's trying to change that but is getting too much resistance from the establishment.

trump actually gets zero of the credit — he has been trying to keep failing mines afloat (it was a campaign pledge). I just wanted a trumpster to dance around the question — like they did, most are nothing but predictable and hypocritical.

Actually, seeing that he actively tried to stop this market trend from occurring he should get negative credit.

This happened in spite of him.

Where did I say this had anything to do with Trump? I didn't!

One thing is for sure, there is no need to sign on to that horrible Paris Climate agreement since we are reducing CO2 on our own without it. Isn't that great? Come on now. Just say it.

Natural gas has been a cheap commodity lately. Market forces like increased fracking have helped increase the supply and decrease the price of natural gas so more of it gets combusted down at the powerhouse. Trump's pro-energy policies have a lot to do with this market factor.

Frack baby frack. Drill baby drill. Frack some more. Combust baby combust.

I believe Trump lifting all the previous regulations on natural gas was a huge factor.

Just imagine how much more a reduction there could be without an admin that sues states for initiating measures on their own.

Do try and keep in mind that despite the increases in other countries the US still produces nearly triple the output of other nations on a per capita basis. That is why the US is expected to do more.
An analogy. Three people have a goal of reducing to 16000 calories of food per day. One consumes 10000 while the other two consume 4000 ea. Can one brag about it's 10% decrease to 9000 and complain that the other two are not doing their part because they increased to 4100 each?

He is the first image in your “source” — if it can even be called that as well as both posts immediately above mine.

So you are agreeing that he had nothing to do with this relatively good news?

I could be correct but isn’t fracking for oil, Not natural gas? What pro-energy policy specifically?

That's because States, Cities and industry have ignored Trump's lack of involvement and decided to do the right thing. They have agreed to stick to the
    Paris Accord's guidelines.

Great post, I was going to post something very similar. here is some data, to underline your point:

The US has NO reason to celebrate, they are still the largest offender in the developed world.

Now, just imagine what would happen to CO2 emissions and energy consumption if India, or countries in Africa would attain first world status coming with its per capita energy use?

Hey, since when did burning of natural gas not produce CO2? Inquiring minds would like to know.

it is interesting, though, to see the knee jerk reaction of trying to credit EVERY positive event to Trump. on the other hand, EVERY negative event must be somehow the Dem's fault.

It has EVERYTHING to do with it. Trump is getting BS out of the way. Trump pulled out of Paris because it’s total garbage and meant nothing besides rich people mingling over very expensive food. And it was supposed to mean we’d start destroying the environment because the US is evil and wants to polute the planet. The reality is China and India are the evil ones and don’t give a crap. Maybe it means the free market is just doing what is right?

Hey. Remember Clinton was praised about the great economy when he hit lucky enough to be there during the dot.com boom. He did nothing to effect it and it’s the main reason the economy had such an uptick....and threw it crashed:)

You can frack anything that has previously been drilled and get a whole lot more of what's down there, crude or gas.

Would you like me to pull up a few quotes where someone says "Welcome to Trump's Amerika" or somesuch when something bad happened that Trump couldn't possibly have had anything to do with?

Cutting taxes, which allowed for businesses to keep more of their hard earn money, which was used to cut down on pollution. Duh

Well, let's make the necessary sacrifices immediately and reduce the per capita standard of living in the USA, but everybody gonna suffer to do it to get that CO2 down. Start with the big six:

Thermostat: 55 deg. F. winter, off for spring and fall, 88 deg. F. summer

Driving: 75 miles per week, $2 per mile fine for exceeding 75 miles per week

No cars imported and cut by two-thirds the domestic ICE cars produced, limit engines to 1.5 liters

No new roads built, but repairs of existing roads are allowable.

Limit new construction homes to 1100 sq ft

    Private jet aircraft grounded forever

YES WE CAN GET DOWN TO THE REST OF THE WORLD FOR CO2!!!!!!!

I want to see the elites lead by example and ground private jet aircraft forever.
