Okay....I see no ground is being given on the sacking. So, here is my next question. Why is Crozier not being Court Martialed? He is still a 'four star' naval officer, on the same pay as he was when he had his toy to play with, now working in some other capacity at exactly the same rank.

I am expressing my opinion, given no-one here has evidence one way or the other. I admit I have no evidence that Humpty Trumpty was part of the decision to remove Crozier, but, on the other hand, 'you' have no evidence that he was not. I arrive at my decision because Trump has always been downplaying the impact of this nasty and he would absolutely detest it had become known that his administration had failed to address the needs of that ship's crew to such an extent that Crozier had to do what he did, and I agree, the Captain would have known that there was a strong chance he would be removed. He honourably chose to look after his crew rather than his possession of that toy he had.

Liberal logic. If Trump fired the guy he is bad. If Trump didn't fire the guy he "knew nothing about it until well after the fact" and that is bad. In short, all liberal discussions come down to orange man bad.

????? Do you understand US naval ranks? Because if you did, you would realize that admirals carry stars. This guy is a 06 Captain in the American Navy. And to answer your question, they'll allow him to retire with a pension in lue of a court martial. That is usually what they do with high ranking officers who royally screw up. Highly unlikely but they may transfer him someplace where he is out of the limelight away from anyone where he will retire. As far as being a serving line officer, he is done. His career in the Navy is over too. He isn't going to make Admiral. He isn't going to command a ship again. In fact, he will not have another major command again. He if isn't forced out or chooses to retire, he will be transferred to some office in the pentagon that is responsible for toilet supplies

You can ask all of the irrelevant strawman questions you want and I will ignore them because they deserve to be ignored. Your claim that Trump fired the guy is false. You made the claim and totally fail to support your own claim. Your conjectures about the Secretary of the Navy not farting without Trumps permission represent your idea of a well reasoned argument apparently.

I expect a bit more attention from someone sporting the awesome John Steed as an avatar :)

Let's first back up a bit, shall we? I asked you how many of those O6s commanded a Nimitz Class Carrier, the Maximum appears to be 10, https://www.militaryfactory.com/ships/nimitz-class-aircraft-carriers.asp

Span of control, Nimitz Class Carrier Commanders, 10, too much to manage in the Situation Room eh? Of course it is since Trump has chosen to skip it all. You offer nothing of value with your 3100 count of Naval staff holding the rank of Captain in the context of this discussion - in fact what you have offered here is a false premise. There are only 10 Nimitz Class Carriers - 0.3% of your "span of control" assertion.

Regarding your experience, which Federal Departments? What exactly is your military experience? Have you served as a member of the military? Have you served as a civilian under the DoD?

You may have missed my posts here arguing that I am asserting that Trump fired Captain Crozier. A shame that this app doesn't have better filters so you could more easily follow my thoughts in this thread. Trumps sycophants are allowed to fart without his permission, thanks, noted, hahaha.

Curious that you are too restricted with your time to actually answer to what extent your experience applies to a pandemic on a Nimitz Class carrier and to what extant such a matter would not rise to the highest levels of the chain of command.

Absolutely. The US has 10 Nimitz Class Carriers. Lazy Donald doesn't do military briefs, doesn't do intelligence briefs, has staff collate bs pop media crap for his daily consumption. And he was wholly out of the loop on this. I expect more from our CnC.

I'm guess you don't understand how Span of Control works. Because a 06 doesn't report the the President. He reports to an 07 and so and so on.
And yet he has daily briefs with JCS and and the NSC.

Did you not notice, in your frenzy, that I put four stars inside quotation marks?

What are the four rings with that star on the sleeve called?

Jolly good. What is the naval colloquial term for those rings and that star?

It's somewhat aside from the point, but you are kinda ****ing this particular aspect of the thread up a bit, Crozier's sleeve bands are not the same as stars.

    Sleeve Bands here:

    Rank Insignia here:

Funny that. I had a call with a Brigadier (Australian) this afternoon (we were discussing Crozier) and he had a cute name for them. I can't recall what he said.

It's not called anything other than a star, or sleeve emblem. The star on the sleeve you'll note from the link is for all commissioned naval officers.... The naval captain's insignia is the same as the army's, the so called full bird....

You have to be kidding. How is Trump expected to be aware of the actions of every naval captain and other branch equivalents? That's totally unrealistic to expect, that's thousands of people...
