Here, below, is why you should be deeply concerned about China's shocking, duplicitous behavior, its aggression and its constant lies as demonstrated during the coronavirus outbreak this past winter that is still with us ...:

"With the help of stolen U.S. technology (stolen mainly during and since the Bill Clinton administration), China has developed at least three types of high-tech weapons to attack the electric grid and key technologies in a “surprise Pearl Harbor” assault that could send America into a deadly blackout, according to a new analysis.

According to the report from the independent EMP Task Force on National and Homeland Security, China has built a network of satellites, high-speed missiles, and “super"-electromagnetic pulse [EMP] weapons that could melt down the U.S. electric network, fry critical communications, and stifle aircraft carrier groups.

According to the report, written by the task force’s executive director, Peter Pry, long an expert on EMP warfare, China developed the weapons as part of its “Total Information Warfare” that includes hacking raids on computers.

What’s more, despite China’s promises to attack only after being attacked, Pry revealed new data to show that the communist nation is lying and eager to shoot first with “high-altitude electromagnetic pulse,” or HEMP, weapons launched from satellites, ships, and land.

“China’s military doctrine — including numerous examples presented here of using HEMP attack to win on the battlefield, defeat U.S. aircraft carriers, and achieve against the U.S. homeland a surprise ‘Pearl Harbor’ ... replete with technical and operational planning consistent with a nuclear first-strike,” said Pry.

First is a “Super-EMP” weapon, built with stolen [probably mostly from the Clinton administration] U.S. military technology. It is a nuclear warhead on a missile that could be used against ships and on the battlefield, he said. He cited a Chinese Army news article that said an attack would be like a 21st century “Pearl Harbor.” It said, “a highly computerized open society like the United States is extremely vulnerable to electronic attacks from all sides. This is because the U.S. economy, from banks to telephone systems and from power plants to iron and steel works, relies entirely on computer network.”

Second are hypersonic weapons, including missiles, that can send a warhead at five-times the speed of sound to a target.

And third is the development of EMP satellites armed with nuclear weapons that can float for years in the sky. Said Pry, “The U.S. should be very concerned about a scenario where China uses nuclear space weapons, perhaps ICBMs and IRBMs with specialized warheads, to quickly sweep the skies of U.S. satellites, even at the risk of losing PRC satellites, which could then be replaced with a surge of satellites launched by China to capture the ‘high frontier’ and cripple U.S. military capabilities.

    You are woked.

    Advanced hypersonic weapon[edit]
On 18 November 2011, the first advanced hypersonic weapon (AHW) glide vehicle was successfully tested by the U.S. Army Space and Missile Defense Command as part of the Prompt Global Strike program.[13] The missile was launched from the Pacific Missile Range Facility in Hawaii, and struck a target at the Reagan Test Site on Kwajalein Atoll, over 3,700 kilometres (2,300 mi) away, in under 30 minutes.[14] The prototype, which incorporated technologies developed by Sandia National Laboratories, was used to gather data to assist the development of future hypersonic warheads.[15] The AHW followed an endo-atmospheric (within earth atmosphere, at altitude below 100 kilometers) non-ballistic trajectory during the test flight. This is a crucial design feature, as following a depressed trajectory that is much lower and flatter than a normal ICBM prevents other nuclear-armed nations from mistakenly thinking the AHW is a nuclear-tipped missile.[16][clarification needed]

The second AHW test flight occurred on 25 August 2014 from the Kodiak Launch Complex in Alaska. The mission was terminated shortly after liftoff due to an anomaly in the launch vehicle.[17] Operators triggered a self-destruct sequence four seconds after launching, with eyewitnesses claiming the weapon had veered off trajectory just as it took off.[18] A Failure Review Board released the results of their investigation into the failed launch in early February 2015. The board determined that an external thermal protective cover, designed to regulate motor temperature, interfered with the launch vehicle's steering assembly; no issues were found with the hypersonic glide body, booster motors, or the Kodiak Launch Complex, and the board determined the test range flight safety officer correctly followed established protocol and procedures.[19]

The HTV-2 Falcon project is also in the development stage of conducting test flights.

If they cause a widespread blackout here we should nuke them.

There should be a hierarchy of data in every system, a portion of which is not within reach of the internet by anyone. It might be clumsy and time consuming, but the dumb bastards overseeing these systems must reduce risk.

The whole world relies on the Internet, and not just for commerce. Companies, organizations and governments all have some type of security, but unfortunately not all are secure enough. There is a whole science and engineering for sensitive data storage and retrieval, that includes encryption, front end routers, switches and servers(even layers of them), as well as separate internal and external networks, VPNs, etc.

There is a small chance the Sun could hit us with a pulse that would damage the grid badly.

EMP is old news. All BS aside, what they'd do is set off a large nuke at high altitude. That's all it would take, well, maybe 2 or 3 nukes. Gadgets wouldn't be able to do widespread damage.

No matter how they do it, it would mean war. China is not going to go there, they are smart, we're the nuts.

If they stole the technology then we already have it, and probably 10 times the potency of China by now.

LMAO...What utter nonsense. But don't worry, trump said we now have a super duper missile that's way better than anyone else's stuff.

People have absolutely NO clue what an EMP would do. I have a good idea now. I bought a brand new SUV off a dealer's lot that had suffered as close to an EMP as possible. Lightning struck close by....it didn't take a direct hit. Your new cars have probably at least 50 different computer boards...anything from window switches to roll up and down the windows....to the Engine Control Module (ECM). There are boards in brake modules, steering, the transmission...parking sensors...you name it. I changed about 20 modules and brought it back to life. No wiring damage, no physical damage. This is what an EMP will do to your car, Iphone, computer, refrigerator, air conditioner.....damn near everything has some type of computer board with fragile diodes. An EMP will zap the **** out of everything. You won't have power, you won't have transportation, you won't be able to communicate. It's straight back to the 1800's.

I am surprised you didn't find any pitting and/or scarring. Lightning strikes usually surge the voltage/amps causing such.

So true. Mutually Assured Destruction has been true for most of my lifetime. I am rather blase about the whole business.

The possibility of an EMP war being carried out was discussed at least as early as the 1980's and probably a lot earlier than that. Old news yes, but we've never had a credible cadre of criminals such as the chi-coms, with both demonstrable duplicity in their thinking and relations, and willingness to unleash great harm on the world, and then laugh about it.

These are bad, bad people. That is perhaps the most important lesson from the china virus.

Our greedy elites and both parties destroyed our middle class as they enriched China by offshoring our good jobs to commies. Look at what our politicians , and elites have wrought.

They should all be hung for treason the greedy bastards.

Do you think, looking back on it, Japan thinks Pearl Harbor was one of their better ideas?

The blindingly, breathtakingly, staggering obvious lesson is we need to get much, much better at dealing with pandemics.

And that would, of course, mean working closely with China to be on the lookout for the next breakout...........................................................................................................................

I was in Jr High during the Cuban Missile Crisis. I was close to puberty, and it just seemed like a raw deal that I might not make it.

We could make our electric/electronic infrastructure far more resilient to these sorts of attacks. But we don't. A solar flare could have the same effect on the entire planet. One hit us in 1859 that would've melted all the power lines everywhere (and did melt all the telegraph lines), so its likely to happen again, eventually.

Maybe they should ask Japan for advice on attacking the United States of America.
