He allowed travel from Europe (where the virus was raging) all the way into MARCH...and then didn't bother to quarantine those that returned

The phrase "timely manner" is a lie in this case. He should have, and could have, locked out all travelers from all parts of the planet on March 1, allowing U.S. citizens and legal residents to return and go immediately into 14 day quarantine.

What logistics did he manage? The opposite took place. State governors had to compete with each other to get PPE and ventilators, and what did Trump do? He had FEMA outbid them all, so they had to compete with his administration for necessary and desperately needed supplies. Some states got help from the National Guard, but that wasn't something Trump did, that was, again, the governors. Trump has actually worked to put a stop to to that aid.

You'll have to provide a link or two to what IMO is revisionist history. Because from everything I've seen, heard, read, and researched since February, all he's done is try to wish this virus away while doing as little as possible. And now he's doing less. No more 5ask force, no more science, no more briefings to the public. To hear him talk, we've beaten COVID-19 already.

He's like a toddler with the wishful thinking. In fact, I know a toddler or two with a better grasp on reality.

 

What is he supposed to do at this point? He did everything that was asked of him and yes, in a timely manner. There were hundreds of beds made available that went unused and respirators were stored in warehouses in NYC. The Speaker of The House was shilling for Chinese food in San Francisco and then House Democrats all went home to eat expensive ice cream and wait the pandemic out. The President stayed in Washington and worked to answer requests for equipment like ppe and masks. Cuomo was storing people with Covid in rest homes where it could be the deadliest for the old and sick people who lived there.

So then you get your information and ideas from toddlers? Thought so.

All while saying all this you ignore that 1: You're making this political while saying that politics is complicating efforts. 2: Before Trump held a single rally BLM went and held tons of protests all across the country (mainly in Democrat held states/cities mind you) and Democrats supported it completely and utterly. They're STILL supporting the protests...while deriding Trump for holding rallies. Let me guess, holding protests is OK because they highlight "injustice"? Sorry, don't buy it. 2 people killed unjustly by cops in the entirety of 2019 (one a white person, the other a black person). 1 this year, MABEY 2 if you count the guy that was shooting a taser at the cops while running away. The numbers for covid were going down before these protests. The graph in the OP shows that. Even the Dems were starting to get on board with re-opening the country.

The fake outrage by the Dems is just that...fake.

 

He is doing his job and doing it well. If the system seems chaotic it's because we have Democrats in the House behaving like a hostile government, Governors around the country making all different edicts, because they like it, and mask on mask off is the order of the day. Nobody can find their butt in most State legislators. Just open the country and get on with it, we'll live with this Corona **** just like we live with everything else. Americans are ready to quit playing games to protect a senile old Pol. as they try to ruin the country to make this President look bad. Let's do this, lets open up, get back to work and put our candidates in front of cameras in debates. Outline some policies honestly so we can see what each envisions for America's future.

It doesn't matter. We have to do what is right and that means quit wrecking our own economy. Open up and quit using scare tactics. We can get through this. Vaccines are not what have gotten us through each new flu strain, we just work through it and some of us get sick and some don't. Pretty mush any respiratory disease will kill the most vulnerable and hiding only works for so long. Sooner or later we get exposed. I'm in the most vulnerable age group, quit saving me, I'll be ok with whatever outcome as long as it doesn't destroy my children, grandchildren and great grandchildren's lives as Americans with all that title conveys on us.

 

All borders should have been shut to tourism since late January and should stay shut until a vaccine shows good results.

Because so far science has nothing much to offer people.

 

At this point? Nothing. It's far too late for him to redeem himself. No one is seriously looking to the federal government for facts, science, or any help at all. We've known for months now that we're on our own.

 

He is worse than a buffoon. He's an empty suit and political whore. Once the election is over, the powers that be may admit this was all about trying to defeat Trump and end this nonsense. Maybe. They are gaining so much power over the people they may never willingly give it up.

 

He doesn't need to be redeemed, he's doing a great job. What he needs to do is get out front on the riot issue and maybe bring some shame to the Democrats who are making a career of watching Rome burn. I'd say open the country but that seems to be up to Governors at the State level. Too damned many Democrats there.
