Beer gardens in Germany, amusement parks in Denmark like the famous Tivoli, the Eiffel tower in Paris.

They are all open, the disease is under control.

    But you can't go.

"With a population of 21 million, Florida announced 10,109 new covid cases today. With a combined population of 2.6 billion, China, Japan, Korea, Vietnam, Thailand, Malaysia, Indonesia, the Philippines, Australia, and the European Union are averaging 6,760 new cases."

The sheer magnitude of this failure is something I have had trouble communicating. But now that the world is turning it's back, perhaps the scorn will convey the message better.

The guys that make PPE testified in Congress yesterday. They said PPE shortages are going to get worse.

"Citing interviews with representatives of six medical supply distributors that participated in the program, the memo depicts a dysfunctional program...

As the virus continues to spread dramatically across southern and western states, while slowly climbing upward in nearly every region of the country, administration officials also acknowledged the potential strain on the nation's testing system and supplies, which could complicate efforts to aggressively track and contain coronavirus outbreaks.

"We are not flattening the curve right now, the curve is still going up," Adm. Brett Giroir, the administration official coordinating federal testing efforts"

What I find saddest is that politics is also seriously complicating efforts to aggressively track and contain outbreaks. We don't have to look any further than a morning stroll through PF to see evidence. If you cannot make a nation comply with the simplest of tasks (mask wearing) and they cite the constitution in their defense of choice, how are you going to bring this thing to heel? We are now looking at outbreaks in terms of their location in red or blue states. Governors are having to make the difficult choice of helping their state stay healthy or staying on the good side of the petulant leader of the country. And that petulant leader is defying all scientific guidance to hold ego boosting rallies, all the while making fun of those states who are actually trying to bring down their numbers. If it weren't so sad and pathetic, it would be a best selling novel!

The answer is sad and obvious.

It will have to wait for Biden.

And what will Biden do? Perhaps his incompetence will fight it somehow? He is a buffoon.

We are the laughing stock of the rest of the world. MAGA!

The sad part is, the MAGA, American exceptionalism crowd has a big part in this. They believe that we are better than the rest, so it can't happen to us. But here we are, leading the world in cases, and having covid totally out of control in many states.

The proponents of the opening up early agenda have to deal with one problem, though: The virus doesn't care about their petty politics. If those numbers in Texas, Florida and Arizona continue in the same trend upwards, they will have no other choice but closing down again. Will the Trump fans eat some crow when that happens? No, they will still wail about Dem hoaxes.

    What Trump didn't do.

What most other countries did do.

But I am enjoying the subtext of your comments.

Hard to imagine how he could be worse. He has plenty of faults, but Trump cranks each and every one of those faults up to 11. In this particular case, he's treated this pandemic much more seriously than Trump has. I'm sure he mostly did so for attention, but "Buh, buh, Biden" doesn't erase Trump's shortcomings, as much as you wish it would. Addressing facts that challenge his fantasies isn't exactly his strong suit. Trump is 100% feelings over facts.

You are reduced to pretending that you dont think biden could improve the situation while intentionally avoiding the fact that Trump's incompetence has currently resulted in thr worse covid-19 response of the entire ****ing planet and trump is the buffoon who suggested injecting disinfectant as a potential treatment for covid-19.

But since you wanted a list of things Biden would do:

    1) Personally wear a mask in public.
    2) Issue an executive order demanding every American wear a mask while in public.
    3) Pass legislation that improves existing Healthcare options, including actions specifically targeting Covid-19 treatment and testing.
    4) Extend and expand unemployment benefits for those affected by Covid-19.
    5) Incentivize every governor to follow the federal guidelines such that they do not open their economies without seeing 2 consecutive weeks of declining casea and to reverse their reopening plans if the cases are spiking.

It was Pelosi and the dems who did not take this seriously to begin with. Where is your criticism of them?

Well since Biden likes to sniff little girls hair I am glad to see he will wear protection.

Good luck trying to mandate mask wearing. The city near me has done it and cannot enforce it.

    Healthcare options.....lolz what a joke.

Trump didn't take this seriously to begin with and still doesn't. He's actively discouraged people from taking it seriously. And, in case you forgot, unlike Pelosi, he's the head of the Executive branch. You are projecting your hypocrisy into others. But don't worry, I promise not to vote for Pelosi either.

Democrats would have done far less than Trump. All they did was complain and call Trump a racist.

You have got to be ******** me. Literally no one is convinced that the other side - the one that publicly and explicitly said we needed to do more testing, demand for funding, ramp up PPE production, and condemned trump for outright lying about the threat of the virus "would have done far less than trump."

Yes, roll with the messaging that we need weaker Healthcare options during a global health pandemic.

    It is a winning message.

Alright man, just roll with the message that the single worst global response to the virus would have been worse under different leadership if you think that works for you.

No. I literally outlined 5 different ideas, in post #9, that trump could do today in order to improve our response to the virus.

Which amounts to nothing at all and is entirely ridiculous and will do nothing to stop the spread of a virus.

Find me any evidence that your suggestions would work... Nothing we do is going to matter until herd immunity is achieved. All we are doing is delaying the inevitable.
