June 2, Dallas (5th day of protests). Not sure which day in Dallas had the largest crowd. Some protesters traveled city-to-city for that city's "main" protest day. That's some major state-wide bar hoppin' and protestin'.

Protests have been going on for four weeks on almost a daily basis in MA and no spike in cases. And again, we’ve had many days Hot humid days. Every excuse you come up with fails because MA has the same crap going on. Thousand upon thousands of people have been going to all these protests even on hot humid days. Yet we’re not seeing spikes in cases. And sadly there are protests scheduled out till at least 9/1.

The point is that people are not going to wear a mask outside all day in hot/humid weather. Protesters ignored every bit of advice on social distancing, wearing masks and avoiding crowds. They did all three and went to bars before and after. They caused most of the spike in southern cases.

Again, Boston's biggest crowd was 17,000 on one day, while Houston's biggest crowd was over 60,000 on June 2nd. More people = more spread. More heat/humidity = fewer masks. Indoors bars open = yes in Texas; no in Boston. Protesters met in groups at bars and carpooled to the protest location(s).

But, I'll humor you for another moment. You pick any date you like and check the temperature difference.

Hmmm....June 2nd, small spike in cases: Every person in prison tested. Prison spike June 1 - June 13.

    Bars at 25% May 19th.

Bars open to 50% capacity June 3th.

June 15th spike...Perfect timing to see results of bars/protests.

Only one of us is actually following local and state news for Texas closely. Guess who? I'm not debating this any more. Texans know what's happening in Texas.

    We'll be fine.

There is tough, and then there is

Happen to have cnn on for a few minutes today, they blamed texas issues on memorial day, it's as if the protests didnt happen, not mentioned once before they did the standard segue into racism.

Texas acted like the Covid didnt exist and it was all a bad dream when the state reopened. No masks, no social distancing, there was more at the local walmart every hour than protesters in that picture.

Texans are out in full force, the protest didn't help but they were less than .01 percent of the foot traffic that day.

I'm sure the Lake of the Ozarks pool party was less than .01% of the swimming traffic that day but I think I've seen that video 75 times, spreadin' dat virus. Weird eh?

Wait, am I in the wrong thread? Nope. We're not talking about the Missouri. We're talking about Texas.

Why not talk Florida for a moment in the Texas thread...

(Texas' numbers even lower than Florida.)

See, that's what you call propaganda. When you start to factor in what's not said, the numbers begin to shift. The death per million is TOTAL population of the state with CURRENT total covid deaths of the state. Unless Florida has a miracle cure and the state has stop covid in it's tracks, the number will increase.

    I know right!

That's why I brought it up.

CNN used the MO pool party to demonstrate why TX is having a surge in cases. Protest? What protests?

I don't watch CNN but if you live in Texas is obvious why Texas is having a surge. No deep analyses needed.
