Well we are both primates and they are definitely closest to us and like us are a very stratified society.
.....I suppose if they were to multiply profusely and kill off all the other species, pollute the air and water and eventually destroy themselves in the process... then I suppose their greed and ambition would match ours. Your talking like "Planet of The Apes" right?
It has the advantage of simplicity. That's what I don't get about the annual hysteria over #Oscarsowhite. If you think too many whites are winning movie awards, then simply stop making white movies with white actors. Don't complain about whites winning awards if you are a white actor who actually worked that year.
They are certainly born with both potentials. No, it's part of the meaning of "understanding." If you understand something, that means you have an accurate mental model or representation of it. If you have an accurate mental model or representation of something, you can predict its behavior. If you can't predict it, you don't understand it.
Oh I see....kind of like the the weatherman...he's at least right 50% of the time. Or like Trump said...."I will be right eventually," the president told Fox News host Chris Wallace. "It's going to disappear, and I'll be right." Or like science....https://list25.com/25-science-facts-that-were-proven-wrong/ https://www.buzzfeed.com/natashaumer/science-facts-you-might-have-believed-in-the-90s I like this one..."A 2002 genetics study even found that there are larger genetic differences between Africans than there are between Africans and Eurasians." Even Fox News....https://www.foxnews.com/science/10-times-experts-predicted-the-world-would-end-by-now
I think you're on the right track. It first has to be seen as a problem. If more would think like you do. There would be no problem. What you quoted here... "I imagine one of the reasons people cling to their hates so stubbornly is because they sense, once the hate is gone, they will be forced to deal with the pain"---James Baldwin, writer What produces hate? Hate comes from fear....no? If they can get rid of their fears....the hate will dissipate. But try to convince a white man that he is afraid of anything at all. He would rather fire a weapon at you than admit he is scared...or admit that he is wrong about anything.
I've had the privilege of getting to know Black people in the Army, the Navy and on construction sites. Have worked side by side with them, spent free time with them, have learned from them. They have a deep humility about them that I have seldom seen in a white person. In fact...I only know of one old white man...a Maryland college professor, that had that same strength of character.
That would imply that you understand, so, probably not. No, your claim is just false. Weather forecasts are almost always right within an acceptable margin of error. A weather forecast that correctly predicts it will rain tomorrow shows some understanding of the weather. A forecast that correctly predicts it will rain eventually does not. An intelligent person understands the difference -- and an honest one doesn't try to pretend there is no difference. Science works by making falsifiable predictions and trying to learn why the erroneous ones were wrong. That was predicted by the "out of Africa" hypothesis of the origin of anatomically modern humans. The idea is that anatomically modern humans emerged ~200Kya in sub-Saharan Africa, and gradually displaced -- out-competed or exterminated -- all the previous human species there. Then a small, non-representative portion of the population of sub-Saharan Africa left via the Middle East about 70Kya and founded all modern human populations outside sub-Saharan Africa, displacing all previous human populations. Barring some catastrophic event within Africa that would extinguish a large fraction of the remaining African populations, population genetics predicts greater diversity among the remaining sub-Saharan African populations than in the population that left. And that is what is observed, providing evidence that the "out of Africa" hypothesis demonstrates understanding of modern human evolution. So now we know those experts did not actually understand the phenomena they were predicting as well as they thought they did. And your point would be...?
No. Hate comes from anger. It is the appropriate emotional reaction to evil. But all too often, that evil is itself an expression of hatred for a previous evil. Slave owners did not hate their slaves. But the evil they inflicted on them rightly made those slaves hate them. So it began. Greed -- unfortunately mistranslated as "love of money" -- is the root of all manner of evil. People initially do evil to others out of greed. But once that initial evil is done, the victims rightly hate the perpetrators, and may do them evil in revenge, out of hatred for their evil rather than out of greed. It is hard to break that vicious circle, so it is crucially important not to let the greedy do evil in the first place, and to punish them severely if they do. IMO race relations in the USA would be much more amicable today if after the Civil War the slave owners had been appropriately punished for their evil by having all their assets confiscated and distributed among their former slaves in proportion to their years of servitude. Easier said than done. Thanks for providing such a clear example of racist hatred of whites.
My point would be that all of your cerebral vomit above...concerning your "personal opinion" below..... ....does not prove you are superior to anyone. But keep telling yourself that...who knows maybe someday your prediction will come true.
Is discrimination a form of abuse? There were a few RW christians that openly discriminated against LGBTs. Particularly if a wedding was involved.
What sort of proof do you need? Kneeling on black man until death, not enough? Aurora, Colorado, police issued an apology Monday after drawing guns on a woman and four minors after mistaking her car for one that had been stolen. Brittney Gilliam was with her 6-year-old daughter, 12-year-old sister and 14- and 17-year-old nieces Sunday when police drew their weapons on them. Gilliam said she, her sister and 17-year-old niece were handcuffed while police verified that the car Gilliam was driving was not stolen. https://www.mercurynews.com/2020/08...ndcuff-black-family-in-stolen-vehicle-mix-up/ How many scenes like the one above do you see of white family in handcuffs on the ground in a case of mistaken identity? I suspect, there is no amount of proof to show there's systemic racism. But, more and more people are realizing it. Especially after the neck kneeling murder.
Havent spent much time in the country have you? Its not uncommon out in the stix for the cops to raid a suspected meth house or pot grow and handcuff the whole white family out in front of the place, grandma and children included.
I have lived out in the stix most of my life...never seen nor heard of that happening. You have a link?
Happens "in town," too, not just the boonies. Restraints reduce attacks on police, many times awaiting backup.
Admittedly not many people get to be eyewitness to drug busts such as this type (entire family), but groups do get cuffed (these days it's super-strength Twist-Ties, but the same idea). Drug busts in particular are problematic due to explosive chemicals used in producing meth, and some wild attack on a cop could easily cause real trouble in a confined area like a farmhouse "mixing room."
So what are you going to do about isolated incidents of discrimination (which will always happen in some form or other)? Tell all white people that every one of them is a racist? Robin DiAngelo and her religion of White Fragility discriminates against white people who are not racists.
But how can you tell which white folks are not racist? If they don't speak out like the whites involved with BLM... how can you tell how they really feel about another race? Do you just trust they are telling you the truth when they say they are not racist?
I was actually inspired by a report that White men in Hollywood are afraid that there was a hiring moratorium on White men. I am not sure I put much credence in that report, though.
Put a lot of credence in the not-so-quiet Hollywood assault on white males. I link to it in here. http://www.politicalforum.com/index...exist-in-the-us.576251/page-6#post-1071922550 Entertainment Weekly, Hollywood Reporter, IMDb (Internet Movie Data Base) and Deadline Reporter (the leading movie info sites I read regularly) have all had reports of white movie or entertainment-industry-related CEOS being summarily replaced by woke black or other minorities. They're so scared they even replaced a white girl playing Batwoman with a black girl. Like the viewers won't notice. Nobody argues Harvey Weinstein was innocent, or that casting-couch exploits still exist out there. Nobody argues that liberals also like loose talk which other liberals may find totally unacceptable today when last month they'd be laughing. One early take here is, expect a lot more outrageous PC before the theaters stay empty and TV shut off and the ratings tell the producers EXACTLY how bad we hate their product.
Do you go around in face-to-face life asking people if they are racists? Do you think that when not participating in a protest, the white participants are going around asking people how they feel about race? You certainly know your friends and family members' attitudes about race, usually without asking. I think most people today who do have racial animosity towards others have zero motivation to act on their feelings. There are racists in white, black, Hispanic and Asian communities, and racist Republicans and Democrats. It seems to me like they sort of self-segregate into communities of their own and have found ways to not have to deal with or be exposed to diversity. When that is not possible, such as in a work environment, people tend to not be publicly racist because any blatant racism will get people fired from jobs. You probably wouldn't be able to tell if a coworker is racist or not, so then it's a non-issue. So I'd answer "How do you tell?" with "It doesn't matter if their racist ideation isn't actually harming someone else or barring someone from succeeding in their own life." Racism is just like any other wrong opinion. Opinions only harm when or if someone acts on their negative opinion. I just don't see that very much today, but I live in a very diverse, cosmopolitan, and high-educated college and tech city. I'm aware that there is less racism here than in other geographic regions of the country.
