The problem is finding poll workers.

People just aren't grasping the viral load concept. Is it really that hard to understand that 15 minutes is less exposure than 10 hours? It's so easy to me, and I'm no big science thinker. I just know the basics.

The left wing narrative is already in place for when Trump wins, i.e., VOTER SUPPRESSION.

If Biden wins (by whatever means) it will be to you a fair election. Otherwise it will be voter suppression.

Maybe you would care to explain what would prevent left wing postal workers, belonging to Biden endorsing left wing unions, from tossing ballots from Republican majority zip codes, into the nearest dumpster.

It doesn't matter who wins. Both parties have teams of lawyers already filling out all the required forms to get stuff changed, moved, postponed, validated, invalidated, and whatever lawyer-y nuttery goes on throughout the election day.

This will be contested. Bush v Gore, with extra steroids.

The USPS is self supporting per the Postal Reorganization Act. Do you understand they do not receive Federal funding?

Well if they take sorting machines out that means letters and of course that includes ballots will have to be hand sorted which will end up with delays which is what trump is hoping for so he can contest.

But dump already saying mail in ballots isnt setting up a excuse?? Just like 2026 he swore up and down ppl were voting twice all for Democrats and that was the only reason he lost the popular vote. Investigation only turned up 1 case of voter fraud some lady I believe in Iowa voted for trump twice because of the things trump was saying...

I don't understand this logic. Has an explanation been provided? There's certainly no financial advantage to removing them.

Nope...I'm saying that regardless of it's debt...Trump is trying to screw things in the USPS up as much as possible.

NOW...they're removing 671 of these mail sorters that sort up to 35,000 pieces of mail per HOUR

Don't really care. My vote will be cast in person on election day. What others do, don't do not my concern.

Actually it was Bush and THOSE Congressional Republicans

Then there is the Postal Accountability and Enhancement Act of 2006 (PAEA), which some have taken to calling "the most insane law" ever passed by Congress. The law requires the Postal Service, which receives no taxpayer subsidies, to prefund its retirees' health benefits up to the year 2056. This is a $5 billion per year cost; it is a requirement that no other entity, private or public, has to make. If that doesn't meet the definition of insanity, I don't know what does. Without this obligation, the Post Office actually turns a profit. Some have called this a "manufactured crisis."

Let's start with the USPS mandate: It was formed with a very different directive than its private-sector competitors, such as FedEx Corp. and United Parcel Service Inc. Those two giant private shippers, along with a bevy of smaller ones, are for-profit companies that can charge whatever they believe the market will bear. The USPS, by contrast, is charged with delivering to every home and business in America, no matter how remote. And, they can only charge what Congress allows; increases require approval. It also has congressional pressure and oversight on where it must maintain postal offices. The USPS has been slowly closing sites where there is insufficient customer demand. But closing an obsolete or little-used facility invariably entails a battle with each representative, who in turn faces voter anger when the local post office is targeted for closing. FedEx or UPS can open or close locations with little problem as demand and package traffic dictate.

I smell shenanigans. Trump made sure he got his way. Congrats, team red. Now we are almost assured that those who are not ambulatory, those who are out of the country, and those who are too sick to vote in person, will not get to vote at all.

    Well done!!

The Postal Service’s warnings of potential disenfranchisement came as the agency undergoes a sweeping organizational and policy overhaul amid dire financial conditions. Cost-cutting moves have already delayed mail delivery by as much as a week in some places, and a new decision to decommission 10 percent of the Postal Service’s sorting machines sparked widespread concern the slowdowns will only worsen. Rank-and-file postal workers say the move is ill-timed and could sharply diminish the speedy processing of flat mail, including letters and ballots.

Postal Service warns 46 states their voters could be disenfranchised by delayed mail-in ballots

Not sure what AZ truck is. Assume a delivery service. The Congressional mandate is insane, but it is not some problem Trump created overnight. If anything the prior postmaster refused to address it and the current one is making the tough choices to focus on the more profitable side of their model. Anyone relying on the mail to vote will be assuming the risk their ballot won't make it or be counted.

Yeah totally don't have those around here. All done by USPS, UPS or FedEx. Not a lot of FedEx trucks either. They rent uhauls during Christmas season to deliver the extra volume. They were the kings of business deliveries until everything started being done by PDF through email.
