    It's happened before.

Do you have any evidence that he has actually done this?

You can. And most people will. Thats a very astute post

But let's just be honest here. The right is against mail in voting because they know when voter turnout is high, which mail in voting will facilitate, republicans dont do as well. But the rub here is that there are a lot of americans who dont want to go out, wether they are high risk, or someone in their family/household is high risk and they dont want to risk them, or whatever reason, they should be able to vote. Mail in voting is legal and has been for a very long time, so the right doesn't like it for purely political reasons, but FFS, in the middle of a pandemic they want to stop it ?

I find it simply amazing that the left constantly calls and insinuates that Trump is an idiot and stupid and an "orange buffoon" but the moment it would actually take foresight and brains to do something he's suddenly very clever and smart.

I said I speak to the legality most of the time. I never said that I never speak to other things. In any case you don't need to be an Einstein or Dr. Phil to see the hypocrisy on display.

And no, its not speaking out of both sides of my mouth. It's called separating my my emotions and bias from the question at hand. You should try it some time.

Then who decides who runs it? You? The President has always decided who ran it since it was first established. That is literally part of his job description in the Constitution. To appoint people to run various departments.

"pretty much said"? So he didn't actually say that. You're just putting words in his mouth.

You don't know how our system works?

Trump's cutting his own throat. People are ordering their ballots early to beat the rush.
Trump is giving away his chance to improve his standing.

You are accusing an entire union of being so corrupt that they are willing to risk prison?

What does a republican ballot look like? Are you suggesting that all mail carriers in the country are going to sit in their truck and open the ballots before deciding to send them on?

Conspiracy theorists would be funny, if they didn't sound so sad.

Firstly it is proposed that ballots be signed on the outside, i.e., that could be checked against a list of registered voters. Of course the simple thing is just to toss ballots based on zip code. What is sad is suspending critical thinking.

Yeah, me too. My problem is that the republicans show no intention of being above that.

Whichever team steps up to the adults table first, will have my complete support. Until then, just gotta let the 3rd graders duke it out.

We had to sign our request forms. We do not need to sign the ballots or envelopes. I didn't get to say, "Hey, I'll take 30 of those ballots, please!" It's one per legit signature, only.

Some states have decided they want to expand voting by mail. And trump has said he wants to make it harder for that to happen. In what way is that not voter suppression?

As I understand it, Utah already votes 100% by mail. I believe Switzerland sends out ballots to all eligible voters - and they vote 2-3 times each year. If there were significant fraud with voting by mail, there are enough places around the world to study it.

He is trying to suppress votes, plain and simple. More importantly, and more dangerously, he is questioning the integrity and legitimacy of the election. That tears at the fabric of the country. And his supporters cheer his anti-American actions.

You can....well unless you have the virus I suppose. I plan to vote in person. Besides, this is just an easy way for Trump to get democrats frothing at the mouths. Trump hates Amazon and Amazon has the USPS out delivering packages on Sundays so refusing to give the USPS $25B is little more than an attempt to undermine Amazon's business by refusing to subsidize their delivery model.

I saw that. This will be contested so long that the speaker of the house will become president on January 21.

Please, please, please, California - do NOT re-elect Pelosi. To me, that is the WORST possible outcome of this election.

Thanks for the link but it does not change that I have a mail truck zipping around pretty much every Sunday delivering Amazon packages and that would presumably be the overtime that is now being eliminated due to the funding shortfall in the USPS budget. Your article can crunch the numbers as a split coin, but in the end, they are the same workers doing the same deliveries.

We have delivery trucks in our neighborhood, numerous times each day.

On Sunday, it's mostly the AZ truck we see out for those deliveries.

Given all the rules that Congress places on USPS, they can't make any business decisions without full hearings, have to fund pension like no other entity in the US does, and have their wallet stolen from Congress frequently, it's easy for me to understand why being profitable is difficult.

Voting in person is no more likely to give you COVID that going to the store. Have you really been on a total lockdown and have not left your home since March? And not even the Democrats have been able to say for what the money is needed and how it will be spent, just throwing some arbitrary number at it.
