Chris Wallace calls Trump RNC address 'far too long' and 'surprisingly flat' despite 'some good line

Sometimes the only thing that will correct a problem is some tough love - you dig yourself into a hole, then dig yourself out. Bailing out bad behavior every time something goes wrong only serves to perpetuate the bad behavior. True of spoiled children, and true of Democrat controlled cities too.

It was a DNC decision to play for the votes of the BLM-ANTIFA crowd. Letting it escalate was intentional and then they couldn't ask Trump for help because he would give it to them, shut down the riots and get credit for it. Painted their selves into a corner they did. Now their media is trying to save their butts by blaming Trump. It may even work because it's a never ending stream of hyperbolic invective.

I keep hearing that BS but it didn't show up here. We were jumping. "Disaster was just around the corner" is a hell of a thing to hang your political future on. If the media actually did their job the DNC would be in that basement with Joe.

Or because Democrats opposed Trump stepping in and doing something about the violence occurring in the cities that they're running, which we know to be true. Not only have those Democrats sought to ingratiate themselves with the Leftist "activist" and "protest" groups responsible for the violence, they've jettisoned their first and foremost duty to maintain peace and order in their communities because they think they can exploit the violence for their own personal and political gain. In turn, the violent Leftists walking in the footsteps of the French Jacobins, Russian Bolsheviks and German National Socialists know they can employ their terrorist tactics of mob violence and intimidation to achieve their political goals with impunity.

We're seeing this in Democrat-run cities all across the country, and it's no coincidence, it's no accident and it's nothing new. Here in Virginia, we saw it when Governor McAuliffe and Mayor Michael Singer did nothing, despite the overwhelming resources at their disposal, to prevent the violence that occurred in Charlottesville three years ago, and this year we're seeing it with Governor Coonman and Mayor Levar Stoney who have let violent "progressive" mobs violate the law and trash the streets of Richmond with impunity.

For the innocent people who get victimized, too bad. They're not important. Their lives don't matter.

Democrats and their Leftist sturmabteilung are playing straight out of Alinsky's rule book - the ends justify the means.

I do think it was far too long as well. Some great points made though.

And that would include Republicans living in blue states that The Donald said should rot.

You can't have it both ways. The Donald can't say 'let them rot', and then bitch when the governors decline his brand of 'assistance'.

The police should be rounding them up. The looting and riots are, generally, pretty easy to spot. Many protesters are fighting back against the rioters. So why are police focused on protesters and not following the riot trail?

The reason it was long was because it included a lot of the accomplishments made and promises kept over the last 4 years.

Which is why a Democrat's speech ought to be short or non-existent.

    Exactly.

    And to reiterate:

Brian Williams had a great line about when Trump referenced COVID:

"An Act of Gaslighting Visible From Space".

Overall, I would grade the speech as a Charitable D -.

    To use a baseball analogy:

It was a weak infield hit (when he needed to hit it out of the park).

    Trump being Trump.

Reading a speech from a prompter (that he didn't understand) written at a 1st Grade Level.

Even in terms of Miller's Usual Pablum-Laden Propaganda, it was bottom of the barrel.

An Epic FAIL (on multiple levels).

Yes, the unsustainable national debt is absolutely something we should hang our politicians future on.

I hate the Republican mantra of “I’ve got mine, **** you”. It seems to be fully entrenched in your party.
It is almost as dangerous as the mantra or “It isn’t directly impacting me, **** you”.

What’s ironic is that if you have children or grandchildren, this will absolutely be their problem. But like I said, me me me seems to be the only concern of so many.

Indeed. Trump's speech was one of the longest on record, and Bidens one of the shortest on record.

Small detail, you forget the 185,000 deaths of the virus.

A virus that was supposed to magically disappear last March.

But it's still the Democrats' fault.

250,000 Americans will be dead by the time of the elections.

By the time a vaccine is available, Covid will have killed more Americans in two years than WW2 has in five years.

Several countries of the West have not suffered as many economic repercussions as the US.

History will remember that Trump was, by far, the most reckless, incompetent and dangerous President since Independence.

Yep, nothing says "I've got mine, **** you" like acting like a total ass in front of a $20K refrigerator showing off fancy ice cream during a pandemic while people are literally crapping in the streets just a few miles away

Make up your mind about deficit spending. You do know that the trip wire in the latest financial rescue was Nancy insisting on 3t instead of 1? Who are you backing anyway?

Trumps good at giving speeches on teleprompter (not a dig at him most politicians use them). His actual speech itself was pretty tired and stalw if you ask me

I am not enthusiastic about any candidate but Jo Jorgensen most likely. What do you mean “make up my mind”?

Ah, whataboutism — the epitome of “I have no argument but look over there”

Or are you saying that excessive wealth is bad?

Jo Jorgenson? Not exactly a household name. So who will you vote for unenthusiastically?

    Yeah?

    And, so what?

What does Nancy Pelosi have to do with a thread about Trump's RNC Speech?

    Whataboutism, much?:bored:

Anyway, back to the Actual Topic:

I think the speech was disappointing to his base (given the fact that he had a live audience to react to Miller's "Dems Bad" zingers).

Every time that they panned the audience, 3/4 of the people were on their phones and bored to tears.

Definitely a super spreader event that will produce another Herman Cain Tragedy.

    Trump seemed lethargic.

It was Brandon Straka who said "Leave Democrat cities. Let them rot" and it's sound advice. If Democrats are going to let violent Leftist trash burn and loot their communities why would anyone in their right mind want to live there and hope they don't become the next victim?

Of course, none of that takes away from the fact that it's Democrats and their violent violent comrades who are victimizing the innocent people in those cities, not Donald Trump.
