    I explained it above. Trump uses defund meaning take everything.

    So is using money to buy police more guns defunding?? Or new police cars?? If you are using the money to make their job easier by addressing mental health wouldnt that help them? And Biden wasnt talking about huge amounts of money tho.

    Wallace is correct, and it's interesting to note that FOX was the only major outlet covering the conventions that actually criticized the candidate they support, and presented numerous outside critical views of their candidate (Trump) as well.

    In fact, the critics of Trump on FOX outweighed the supporters! :eek:

    It was an okay speech, but nothing off the chain, which is where Trump excels.

    And it was at least twice the length it should have been, but the week was amazeballs, and closed with the most incredible fireworks display I've ever seen.

    The Democrats tried to shut Trump down with their sociopathic COVID Hoax, but he turned his locked-down briar patch into the most spectacular convention week since the days of Reagan.

    DNC -> F+

    RNC -> A+

    The only question now is whether Trump wins, or wins in a landslide.

    I have read the OP and the first page. To answer the OP and as someone from down here. I thought the 'speech' was:

    1. Way too long.
    2. It was peppered with the same catchphrases Trump recycles over and over.
    3. Even Trump was bored with it by the time he got to the halfway point.

    A response to one point I saw made. Sure, there have been riots etc. But......they are happening in Trump's America.

    And lastly.....In that speech, Trump said that he will oppose 'your religious liberty,' and no-one (other than me, and I have no dog in the fight*) has batted an eyelid about that. Go to the 1.00.05 mark of the speech. And also.....he referred to something he called the 'divine destiny' of the USA. Prey tell.....what TF is that? Has God delivered yet another set of Commandments?

    *No secret. I abhor Trump as an alleged homo sapien. He is a gutter dwelling arzehole with absolutely no moral fibre whatsoever.

    Do you reckon posting that stuff gets any gravitas other than from the Trump Cheer Leaders?

    I don't think Trump was catering the speech to the out of US population or even most democrats.

    The interesting part is how much it seems to be stressing out the US media.

    Divine destiny is an oblique reference to American exceptionalism-which is also not catered to the non American or leftist crowd.

    So......to whom was he catering?

    To the non American crowd, it is naked and cheap arrogance personified. It is really grotesque in nature, and that you guys suck it up, even believe it, tells me (and others) that 'you' just love snake oil bullshit which feeds into a political and perhaps even national ego going way off the rails. If any Aussie PM or Pollie tried that gingo Gringo garbage down here, we'd laugh him out of political existence, and enjoy taking him down a peg or many.

    Typo. Should have been jingo Gringo garbage. (I had too much alliteration in the head.)

    'You' really ought to take into serious account (not necessarily accept blindly) international commentary as it likely will be the closest thing you will read in such a divided Nation as the USA has now descended to....led by Humpty Trumpty.

    You are forgetting about the many Trump supporters - people who knew him and worked closely with him - who say he is unfit for office. That is more compelling than one guy who changed his mind.

    Enough will vote for him that Biden will lose handily.

    But this also extends to congress, and state and local govt.

    You met America at a very strange time.

    I am reminded of this movie from the last century.

    :blushes: " Far too long and surprisingly flat despite some good lines " seems to sum up the career of Chris Wallace .

    You got it backwards.

    The Dems. will hold the House and take the Senate and the Presidency.

    No, AJ they won't.

    This is like 2016 except Trump is a stronger candidate and Biden a weaker one.

    2.1% fourth quarter GDP and falling during the year is not "rocking and rolling". Covid came just in time for Trump to run away from his failing economy.

    The word "did" is past tense. Do you really think that Covid is over? Trump has managed the virus disastrously
