You only said it would be stopped with a large number. Not with a small number or even a large number taken to large number of mailboxes. In fact I could drop them all in the drive through mail box in front of the post office and they would not know the difference.
How many Americans of both parties are currently unemployed and would accept a seasonal job? Seems to me like there are plenty of intelligent, dilligent Americans willing to do the work, if they're even needed. 20x the usual number of ballots just means that this year, we may not know the election results for a few days. I'm okay with that. After all, in pre-technology years, it took more than a day to count all the ballots, and no one whined about it back then.
Lol do you plan on training those seasonal employees in how to do handwriting verification? Or do we just place our election and our trust in the idea that Nicole, whose last job was the cashier at Walmart or a waitress at Golden Corral, will be able to accurately assess hundreds (if not thousands) of signatures in a timely fashion without appropriate training?
Sigature verification is not difficult, even "Nicole" could do a competent job. Or do you think that a woman who works at Walmat or is a waitress is somehow incapable of doing complex work? I'm assuming that most county clerk's offices are capable of vetting and training new workers.
Crimeny kriman. Read the post you began responding to in this go-around. I explained it all there. I'm not a big caps guy, and no offense, but this is getting tiresome. If you get information from homeless people, AND HAVE BALLOTS SENT TO YOUR HOME, the post office will take notice that there are 1,000 ballots being sent to a single-family, three bedroom house. Capiche?
Why do they have to be sent to my home? Surely I could come up with a few more addresses where I could arrange to pick up mail or even enlist the help of a few more people. But this still comes back to my original question. How many fraudulent ballots are OK?
Zero! All signatures are verified. Be it at the polls or absentee. It's faster to verify for mail-in ballots than in-person ballots. As for absentee vote counting machines... I have no idea, but they're just... machines. If you need more, you get more. Absentee ballots are usually the first to be reported. Our county starts the machine when the polls close. But I believe some counties start at noon on the day of the elections. So they have the results hours before the polls close. Which is fine so long as they don't publicize them before the official closing. Most counties in Florida close one hour before the official closing, because counties in the Florida Panhandle are on Central Time. So results for most of the state are immediate. If you watch live, you'll see a huge number of votes reported the very second the polls close. Those are absentee ballots and early voting results. You're desperately trying to find something to criticize in a system that, though not perfect, is as tamper-proof as you will ever hope to see. And all this to justify the obvious nonsense your "leader" is spewing publicly? My God! Nobody has criticized mail-in voting before Trump. There has always been bi-partisan agreement that it's at least as secure (and I hadn't heard anybody not say that it's more secure) as in-person voting. Especially Republicans loved it. Democrats had a harder time convincing their voters to use it. And then... Trump came along... Everything that moron touches turns into crap. And this time it's going to backfire. Which is good for political interest. But bad because more Republicans (especially the elderly) who would have otherwise voted absentee, are going to risk their lives by voting in person. And many will die because of it. Shameful!
Most of them wouldn’t be working at Walmart or as a server if they could do complex work in an efficient manner and were competent in doing so. Otherwise they would have a better job. Are there exceptions? Sure but we live by the rule not the exception. The idea that we should put the future of our country in the hands of unemployed and seasonal workers with their own political bias’ who are their for a paycheck and not the good of our country is insanity.
If you want to present another argument, fine. I was addressing another member's argument, which you have been challenging me on. Let's stick to one argument at a time, k?
Could you define Verified? Are they actually matching it to a reliable signature(s) or simply verifying that the ballot is signed??
NPR did a study. In the 2020 primaries, over a half million mail in votes were rejected. That can't happen when voted in person. I go in and they check to see whether I have already voted. They send me over to a voting machine and I cast my vote. Once I cast that vote, there is no way it can be rejected because they cannot tell which vote is mine. There is no way mail in voting is more secure and there is no way that mail in voting is more reliable. It is simply not true. Too many ways to go wrong.
Then why in sensitive matters we are required to produce ID to a Notary and SIGN the document in their presence and then she/he stamps and signs it ¯\_(º¸º)_/¯ How do people ignore the obvious?
The only purpose of a counting machine is to have the votes counted on election night. After that, everything is checked and re-checked before the results are certified. So far no major discrepancies have been found. On a voting machine... that's it! That's your vote... BTW, there are a few counties in Florida that still use voting machines for in-person voting. Not in my county, though. You too are desperately trying to find some way to justify your "leaders" idiotic words undermining mail-in voting. A system that has been regarded by everybody as completely safe for two decades. Especially by Republicans. Now it's Republicans who have lost confidence. Again: everything Trump touches turns to crap!
So I assume all these signature experts are all trained and certified Notaries But hell was so important about electing a President every four years that needs to be scrutinized, let any ol body verify a signature.. Seems more reliable to just have the voter show up in person and handed a ballot..
Yeah uh huh. Why don't you explain to me why the morons working at fast foods joints can't even get the damn order right when it's printed out for them to read? I guess they can't read? Or they just don't give a ****? So Nicole is a flaming lib....."oh, that Trump vote signature looks a little suspect to me....nope that don't count cuz I want gimme dats" Absentee ballots should be limited to those out of the country or with medical issues and health issues. And I'm not talking about the average lard ass that schemed a handicap tag to park on the from row of Walmart. Mail-in ballots should be illegal.
I don't have to desperately do anything. By their very nature mail in ballots are less reliable. Many more people handle them which increases the chances of fraud and mistakes. No matter how much you try to dance around that fact, it is still a fact. The fewer hands that handle them, the better. That same principle applies to manufacturing or just about any other endeavor.
Hell, my Godson been a letter carrier for the USPS for decades, he says in some area's the mail box's have condoms, food, sticky drinks and God knows what in them when he picks them up.. Some of it so bad you cant even separate the stuff so it's tossed in a bin and left to rot.. He says same thing "Not as bad" happens with the inside depository slots too.. Anyone claiming mail in is more or equally as reliable as in person is just being naive and knows not what they're talking about
I completely disagree with this. A single operative is far more likely to succeed if he doesn't have to pass off ballots to the next checkpoint. Having ballots go through several hands is a check on fraud and mistakes. Manufacturing is no different. I work for a printing company. From sheeter to press to jogging to cutting to packing to palletizing to shipping. That's the course the paper takes along the way. If a pressman makes a mistake and misses it, there are several stations down line that look for, and catch these mistakes. Redundancy prevents errors and fraud.
