LOL! I have to chuckle at the Trump haters. The closer the election gets the more crap they throw against the wall in the hope's that something will stick. Meanwhile America yawns and prepares to vote for Trump.
When was his illegally violated? Diversion noted. If Trump's tax return information was illegally leaked do you support prosecution for the person who leaked it?
Re-read the article LSG. The article was on his companies. Again, why should a billionaire pay $750 in tax when individuals pay much much much more ? Trump is deriving value in his companies by doing that so it is DJT. Why does Donald Trumps company pay less that the guy working for a living. Whether he cheated, or the tax codes are wrong is exactly what this is about. It all points out that the rich pay a much smaller percentage of their incomes than the working class. Which is a another huge issue with flat taxes. Show me a flat tax that includes investment income, and Ill vote for it. But until then, Flat taxes are nothing but another gift to the rich. Our current system is bloated and impossible to understand, but all a flat tax does is simplify the same same inequities that exist in the current system
....amused by legal plunder who can rob you legally and against your will. "Now, legal plunder may be exercised in an infinite multitude of ways. Hence come an infinite multitude of plans for organization; tariffs, protection, perquisites, gratuities, encouragements, progressive taxation, free public education, right to work, right to profit, right to wages, right to assistance, right to instruments of labor, gratuity of credit, etc., etc. And it is all these plans, taken as a whole, with what they have in common, legal plunder, that takes the name of socialism." - Frederic Bastiat, 19th Century Philosopher
Then again, they finally got Al Capone for tax evasion, so it may not matter with trump. It's obvious why he refused to show them before the last election and ever since. He and his miserable crime family may have to flee to Russia and ask for asylum soon.
Tabloid trash, like the NYT has become in recent years, is rather simple to follow and should be taken with the same seriousness as any standard super market rag.
(a) Trump hasn't divested. (b) Sure, I'd use absolutely every means available to pay less tax. But I'd also hope that despite that, I ended up having to way pay more than $750 because my business was so successful. (c) To have 564 businesses and a tax bill for $750 - for ALL of them - is a sure sign of spectacular failure or spectacular fraud.
If one of my boss's businesses "makes" $240,000 on a job and the "costs" of make the job complete are $235,900, then my boss "nets" $100 of income. Very simple business math. Gross revenue is not taxed.
There are cost for medical treatment, those cost can be written off on your taxes once they reach I believe it is still 7.5% of income but stand to be corrected on the exact number now. So if someone one had a huge bill of the one year of 30% of their income would you still want them to pay the 10% flat tax on their gross income? And business can have gross income but due to expenses actually have a loss, so which business income are you going to tax the gross or a net? You'll put a lot of businesses out of business if you are taxing the gross and greatly limit expansion and growth. So while a flat tax sounds good in principle it's when you get into the details and complications that it quickly becomes a not so flat tax. Me? I'd go with the Fair Tax but this is all off topic and for another thread. I'll give you the last word.
I've paid a lot more in capital gains taxes last year than Trump paid overall in two. I guess I need to be more bold when filing my tax return. Or get a good lawyer,
