Wow? That didn't take long. The first post after the OP, and already back on the "Hey, Lookie Here! BLM" Shtick? Wow.:smh: Are you a fan of mentioning "BLM Bad" at every opportunity (across multiple threads)? ^Nothing personal (of course), just a friendly inquiry. Anyway, back to the OP: There was clearly an Egregious Double Standard on display. Everybody KNOWS that the Capitol Police would have reacted with more force if these Rioters were Black. ^That is undeniable (and Inarguable).
You and the poster you just responded to are like two peas in a pod. Let's cut the crap. Trump incited a riot. He later put out a video that did the bare minimum to cover his ass legally, and then predictably backtracked on it and now says he regrets making that video. A Republican Senator reports Trump was confused that others didn't share his glee at the time the Capitol was stormed. Riots are indefensible, whether in this context or in the context of the protests last summer. Lots of people on both sides are hypocrites for excusing/"rationalizing" one while rightfully condemning the other.
Exactly. So now we to immediately stop giving priority to certain races (and genders) in government programs, schools, tv commercials, scholarships, job quotas, word usage, beauty contests, dorms, graduations, news stories that only put race in the title when they want to push an agenda, etc. We also need to weed out politicians who specifically say they'll choose running mates based on race and gender. Oh, and we should week out politicians who have a history of racism (and pedophilia and abuse of women). And we absolutely need to dump all race based groups that believe only their lives matter. What the left never admits to is their own racism which goes far, far beyond the minuscule racism they accuse others of. So if anyone is truly interested in getting rid of racism, the most obvious move they can make is to denounce blm and stop funding them. Anything less is completely hypocritical.
So let me get this straight: in your mind, Trump's denunciation of the insurgents "must be" his indication of not agreeing with them ..... BECAUSE you believe I said BLM disagrees with . . . . . . --something? Exactly how confused do you think you can become?
Because they would have been more violent so it kinda makes sense. Did they actually burn down the capital building?
You believe because BLM officially denounced them that they don't support them but that logic can only apply to blm? Alright
Andrew Jackson? I thought you were dead! What, you mean like they were mostly hands off with the "Black" Rioters last summer and let them burn cities to the ground?
Almost as "overdone and worn-out" as people who cry "BLM Bad" all day. Anyway, it is apparent to everyone that the situation would have been handled differently (and more forcefully) if the Rioters were Black.
As for I can remember during Obama administration things weren't so different. What we can underline is that previous Presidents reacted in a different way, but things didn't change. I wonder if there was the political will to make things change ... https://www.nytimes.com/2020/05/30/us/politics/george-floyd-trump-obama-bush-clinton.html If you issue a federal law impeding policemen to treat in that way suspects ... you will have made something. Or I miss something? Can the federal government issue laws regarding police behavior? If not ... complain with the governors ...
"Viewpoint"? Are you saying racism has no damaging consequences in policy or action? The US has a very long history of racism producing harm, death, injury, and all manner of disadvantage. DO YOU THINK THERE IS NO NEED TO ADDRESS THESE?
Huh? Since when did The Capitol Police extend their jurisdiction to other American Cities? I must have missed that. Do you have a link?
What you're saying is that racism has a long and deep history in the US. I agree, and it's time to dig it out and eliminate it.
This makes sense. But an administration has to have to bravery to issue laws [with the approval of the Congress] and then to endorse them. In Italy suspects don't die. Our police is violent [Italian policemen are hard hitters, this is known], but there are clear rules and limits about how to treat a suspect. Then ... in some cases ... it has happened that a suspect "decided" to jump out of a window at the 5th floor of a police station ... to die because of the fall ... but you know: accidents happen. This to say that there is always a shadow where authorities can abuse of their power. The point is that this shadow has to be as little as possible.
If our country is systematically racist then you should have no problem with the capital building being trespassed upon. Are you angry that more damage was not done?
